Hell no! Then everyone would know the mistakes you make. Good thing the cameras were off when I was trying to help degree the cams. It had been a while since I done mine is all I can say...

Its like everyone's "first start"videos, everyone knows it is really the second start because there is not smoke everywhere from the headers and such. Haha

That's really funny! And most likely true.

Didn't you say Sunday last week? J/k.. my build is the definition of fucking delay. Look it up, you will see a pic of my fucking motor next to the word.

Every asshole that could possibly dick up my schedule and plans seem to have gone the extra mile to do so.

Lito is the only one in the entire process that keeps his word.. and does exactly what he says then some

Got a little done today.
Assembled the wastegates, installed the springs per my desired boost level.
What I can say is this: get a helper to assist putting them back together! Pushing down with springs in place is hard enough, and trying to get the bolts back in while holding it down is a challenge.

Also made some additions to the intercooler mounting, by making some top brackets to hold it in place more firmly (yes, it is not required, but when does that stop me!).

Planning on getting a lot done tomorrow, maybe to the point of being able to start it up, at least to get it to idle. I have a tune ready, thanks to Lito.

Challenges today. Ended up having the wrong turbos. Wouldn't fit into Mikes car. Got everything assembled and ready to put in. Bunch of pictures in mikes camera.

No just comp. For some reason the sent mikes turbos with the 4" inlet and 2.5" outlet. Loes is correct the 3" inlet and 2.25 outlet. This in on the compressor side of course. No big deL i will call comp tomorrow and have them send the right ones to him. The 4" inlet will hit the k member and not work. That is why we use the 3" inlet.

Bobby has been a great help. The turbo housings on my turbos were far larger than the ones on Leo's, even though his turbos internally are bigger. We put my hot side sections together (turbos+pipe+wastegates) for both sides, tried to put the driver side in and it did not fit right, like there wasn't enough room. I attributed it to my 4r70, since we tried the same assembly in Leo's car and it had room and fit.
So then we did the passenger side, and it wouldn't fit, but I noticed my trans cooler lines were somewhat in the way. So loosened them and re-clocked the -an hose end fittings, and that gave more room, such that it was closer, but still didn't fit like it should. We then tried the assembly in Leo's car and could not get it to fit either!

We decided to move on and start on Leo's turbos, pulled one out, set it next to mine, and WTF!!! His turbo housing was smaller, and the discharge tube was 1/4" in diameter smaller as well. After snapping a few pics and talking with Bobby, we found out that the housings on my turbos were the wrong size, far too big for the turbos that I ordered. These were drop-shipped direct from Comp. We'll get it straightened out and get the right turbo units.

After we got Leo's driver side turbo/wastegate/pipe assembly together, we test-fitting that one, with the smaller turbo housing, in my car, and it just about fit like it should, almost! There is one small area I may need to clearance a little on a lip on the transmission case. This was a big relief, in that knowing that once I get the right turbos, they should fit!
We finished up by getting Leo's passenger side assembly put together, but neither side got installed yet.

One point of pain and challenge for us was the driver side pipe and wastegate and clamp: there isn't enough room to get that clamp on once the pipe is bolted to the turbo flange (maybe we should have put the wastegate on the pipe first, and THEN connected to flange the turbo).
The passenger side wastegate clamps were quick and easy; we knocked that last one out in maybe 5 minutes, from start to stop, once the wastegate springs were put in. Hands and tools were flying, we got it down!

Throughout this part of the installation, it really helped having both of us work on things, especially in trying to get the turbos and pipe connected to the exhaust manifolds. We are doing this on jackstands, but having a lift is the way to go.
