Help me out; those sleeves are so close they appear to be touching at the top or almost like the mold from one sleeve rolls into the other which I don't think is possible...how did they do that?

Looks like they're milled flat on the edges that are next to another cylinder

They are designed to butt up to each other. There are center and end cyl specific sleeves.
The top of the sleeve is a small flange that was milled out of the deck for them to sit in.

Talking with the guy that did the work who specializes in sleeving aluminum blocks he showed me the difference in the aluminum from Coyote blocks and GT500 blocks and GTR blocks. As well as showing me the stock liners he machined from the block.

The aluminum in the coyote blocks is very poor low grade cast. The GT500 and GTR blocks have a very high grade of aluminum and are almost a billet quality material. The factory liners are a grey metal that is very brittle and cracked easily when you flex it. Compared to the same thickness liners he machines from a Mitsubishi EVO engine which you can't crack when you fold them at all. It's no wonder there are so many cyl failures at all.
This is why ford is having issues now they didn't have before.
The foundries that used to cast stuff are now doing oil field stuff and the ones they are using now are very poor quality.
This is why a plasma lined GT500 blocks hold up and a lined coyote fails and a older lined 4.6l WAP block didn't fail. Has nothing to do with deck and water jackets just poor materials

Filled her up with 93 at $2.41 a gallon. It was glorious. Doves descended from the heavens, angels were singing, the whole nine yards.

I also checked the tire pressure and found them at 22, 25, 26, and 28. Screw the 19 degree weather. Hasn't even been a month since they were last checked, of course then it was 70 degrees outside.

You get $.50 off a gallon at Kroger with your plus card or something? Lol

Just filled up last night. I've learned to ignore the price, but noted it was $3.07. :omfg: I can't remember the last time I saw prices this low. It's got to be dirt cheap outside SoCal.
