Never enough power guy!
Billy, are you doing the gears yourself?
Ive done it a few times on my car. Only think I don't do myself is build automatic transmissions.

I need to rebuild mine so bad, but I don't think I could get it right.
Yeah; and I can't afford to do it but once. Lol

I've been pounding safety it his ears since before we bought the car. I also always tell him, " If you make me regret this and make your mother and others right, I will sell your car". One thing about TX is when your his age and you get in trouble, you loose your lisense till you are 18 pretty easy also, so that stays in his head as well. We all know how it is though, you can only teach and preach and hope it sinks in.HE will have a tire burning Hi-O time with the gears. After I put 4.10's in my car, it became a blast to drive, blow the tires off in first and carry that spin pretty much most of the way thru second. You will need to really pound safety into his head, as well as when and when not to get right foot fever! My youngest son learned to drive at the track before he had his d/l.
Thanks, but we are looking for a good used one.http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-05-10-Mustang-FRPP-Intake-Manifold-3V-/381115956160
I don't know if you have any interest. Ran across this Billy.

Ouch! That's why I won't tackle it![]()
Well I installed the FRPP CAI and then removed the rear end for the gear install. Then shit went down hill. I took the rear end apart and all was well till I went to remove the pinion gear. I hit it with dead blow for 30 min, then a 2lb sledge and after that broke, I went and bought a new 3lb sledge. After beating on it for another 15 min. I decided to get the 12 ton press out out of the workbench and thought I was going to show it who was boss, boy was I wrong. I thought something was going to break so I took the rear end to the machine shop I use and put it in there 60 ton press. It took 34 tons of pressure to separate the pinion from the front bearing! Everyone in the shop knew when it let loose! Lol That is the most my machinest or myself has ever seen on a perfectly good rear end.
It is all back together now and all in spec with the pinion preload at .022 and the backlash at .011 with all new bearings.
Bad news is its not in the car yet and killed my tuning plans for the cars today.
Good news is, its not supposed to rain on Sat. like we thought it was, so there is do more time to get them done.
I will post some pics tomorrow. Man what a day, 12 hrs in on the gear install as of when I stopped with the rear ready to ho back in.
That should have been a 4.5 to 5 hr job. 1.5 to put it on stands and to take it out, 1.5 to set it up, and 1.5 to put it back in and put it on the ground. Easy peazy, right?

Glad to see you keep your crank wrapped. Got to keep it clean.
