Just got done reading your entire build thread. Very impressive! Props to you for doing everything yourself. Now enjoy the fruits of your labor!

^^Thanks all,

Anxious to see your numbers! Which dyno in town did you go to?

Went to All Stock Racing. He has a Mustang Dyno, never tried one of those before.

Not exactly what I was expecting, but for 12psi on a MD it's not bad. They have cars running 9's in the 1/4 that only make 510rwhp on this dyno so IDK. I'm going to try to go to the track next weekend, that will really tell the story. All in all Lito had to richen it up slightly, so at least that's taken care of and it should be tuned pretty good now for the track. Also going to order a smaller pulley and larger WG spring to build more boost, my centri is operating very inefficient right now only spinning about 62k.

Okay I finally got to the track today, had some issues but was still pleased over all. Only made three passes, the biggest issue was the transmission wouldn't shift, no matter what I did it just wouldn't shift! Leaving it in drive, manually shifting, it made no difference, I had to lift, wait a bit, then after it shifted I could get back in it. Of course bouncing off the rev limiter a few times until I realized it just won't shift no matter what I did. Anyway, it did go 10.98 which is not impressive at all, but it was at 135.33 mph! This is all after letting out for about a full second! So I'm very pleased with the power, just need to deal with the tranny issues. Time for that 4r70w!!! The other issue is one of the discharge tube couplers kept blowing off, and leaving me with no boost, that was the second two passes. Nothing a new coupler wont fix though. BTW, I did pretty much cork my WG, didn't get to see how much boost it made but it was a BIG difference in power! I also ordered a 3.85 pulley, for after the new tranny goes in, then it will be GAME ON!

Will try to upload some video later..

Thats a very healthy torque and power curve for a centri looks more like a turbo for sure, and 135mph trap is legit. She'd probably show 650rwhp+ on a dynojet and with the trans issue fixed that trap should be good for a low 10, high 9.

That's the goal, to beat my old PB of 9.82 @ 136 in my old fox body car back in the day! It's just a matter of time now :beerchug2:

Man I loved reading this. Really like seeing people build the 3v rather than ditch them for some other setup. Can't wait to see what comes next. Keep up the good work

Thanks. Next is an FB 4r70w swap then 3.85 pulley, re-tune, and back to the track! I took it for a ride today and stabbed it for a second or two in 3rd and it made 22 psi, that's still with the 4.25 pulley! And yes I did consider a coyote swap before doing this but you hit the nail right on, I have much more satisfaction with the results coming from a 3v than I would have going the other route, and not nearly as many people do that anymore. My FB trans should arrive in the next week or two, I can't wait to launch off the trans-brake at 4k rpms!

I finally (after 2 months of waiting) received my FB 4r70w and related swap parts this week and began the swap today. Here's some pics from the day:

5r55s out, only took me two hours to get it on the ground,

FB shipped the 4r70w in a 55 gal drum! Never seen that before..

New tranny out of the 55 gal drum, ready to find it's new home in my car!

I got everything bolted in, changed the rear end flange and measured 48" from yoke to yoke, I'll order a new DS on Monday. Ran into an issue with the shifter bracket, I think it might be bass ackwards, the angle is reverse and the mounting holes dont line up so I'll have to call FB on Monday to verify. All in all I got a lot done, now I gotta work on the wiring, which should be interesting to say the least.

I agree, and it looks even better in person!

Dropped the yokes off at a local shop and found the slip yoke that came with the tranny was 1330 flange, so I had to order another one for 1350 so I don't have a bastard shaft. It should be here tomorrow and hopefully my new DS will be ready then too. In the meantime I still have plenty of wiring to do.
