My work areas at 100* ambent is acually 125-135* not cool for my men and myself. Lol
Ever thought about the cat on a hot tin roof line? That is us! Haha

I maybe a northerner but did my time in the desert in the summer where it hits 150* but I didn't want to see that temp anymore.

Good luck with both brakes and test and tune.

Thanks, looks like the test on the brakes will be just before it is loaded in the hauler in the am. LOL Its was very cold and wet this morning and is dry now and the track is open for T&T tomorrow from 12-5. It is going to be 59* and partly sunny tomorrow at the track so, it should be fun. Im not looking for any full all out passes tomorrow, just some clean data logging passes for Manuel and make sure everything is working well. I do want to do a couple launches on the TB though. Its a feeling out the car day, lets put it that way.

One pass in the car today, not good. The brakes suck as is and I am going to put the stock MC and booster back on till I sort out the Strange rears. I decided to make a pass anyhow and ran into more issues there. I really regret the copper head gaskets and o rings!

Car blew the cap off the coolant reservoir just past the 1/8. Went 5.78 @117 in the 1/8 on a soft launch 1.43 60ft, most likely on 7 cylinders. I think the head never sealed. I pulled the oil pan the other day to fix an oil leak and there was water at the rear of the pan that dripped down. I didn't know where it came from. Now, I think I do. I pulled the plugs at the track and they all look good except #8. It is wet with water. I am going to do a compression test tomorrow morning and if the cylinder 8 fails I will re torque the head and re test the compression. If it fails again, I will pull the head and check it out. I think its time to figure out what to do with the groves I cut in the block and put stock head gaskets back on.

So, since the car was down, I had them switch my number to the hauler and raced my kid in his 07. He beat me with a 13.6x to my 13.8x in the tuck. I had him till the 1/8th and then the Mustang out ran my 15' 6.7 Dooley with PIP tunes on level 4. It was fun though! He was able to run 13.50 in his car though on the next run, and for the first time at the track, it felt fast to him. Fingers crossed for a re torque on my car but, not looking good!

i guess you'll have to weld them and resurface it? Idk but I have an aluminum block that's been bored 0.020 I'm not using. It's my old block. If all else fails I'll sell it to you on the cheap.

If you are going to back to mls gaskets, you can use aluminum devcon in the o ring grooves. The cte is similar to the block.

Please PM me details on that just in case.

I was thinking of something similar. I have some rods that I used to repair a head and my sons Moto radiator. I will see if I can find the link. From what I understand the factory gaskets seal at the sleeve anyhow.

Sorry to hear that. Your like a friend of mine who would be better off with no luck then bad luck.

At least it wasn't a complete loss and you did have some fun.

This is awesome! Except for the Retorque part. Good luck with that. I have got my fingers crossed for you. I have been watching this thread and love your car. Hope you get it all worked out.

Damn Billy, I can't believe you are having head gasket problems again. I hope you can solve the problem quickly and get that beast on the track.

Billy might i suggest you just start fresh with a new used block. No point in wasting more time and money trying to fix what you have. Best of luck with whatever you decide.
