That is the PHB mount version, correct? How is the Diff cover mount version coming along?

It's Friday and I wonder if Kelly is cracking the whip on the welders and metal formers to get them producing Watts links at a sweat factory pace for peanuts and the ability to go home at night!

He sent me pictures of the ATBs as well when I ordered new LCAs yesterday :p.

Actually, I believe he said the chassis mount is pretty close to release, but the diff mount may be a little longer? He sounded very excited about it yesterday.

I'll be a test guinea pig lol

Big update.

So, here is where we are. All of the red parts that you see, are in production. We actually have about 25 kits built up right now.

The bare steel part is the latest prototype. After some initial rigidity testing, I am 99.99% positive that this is the chassis mount we are going to settle with.

The previous version was in the 6" ish range down from the wheel well. This version is only 3.875"....

It took a lot of work to get this part where it is, although it may not appear that way.

*I have not been able to test with a convertible. No idea yet, but I will likely give someone with a Vert a great deal to test it for us ;)

Here are some pics, that should explain any questions you guys may have:

So basically, we were able to shed a little weight and gain A LOT of clearance - while retaining all of our original RC positions.

And just to share, since I have been asked a bunch - the top RC position is at the centerline of the rear axle with a 1.5" drop. The car in the pictures above, is lowered 1.50".

We are very close to go time. Once we wreck the car into some ditches, drop the car from 18", and modify the current fixture, these should be ready to ship. FINALLY.

Still working on it.

Can't decide on whether to provide a diff mount kit that uses a specific diff cover that we will provide, or just a plate set-up that will work on any diff cover.

Of course, that will affect pricing.

I would say a year out or so.

Personally, I prefer the Chassis Kit. But that's just me.

plate set-up definitely.

I may make a poll sometime in the future and see if I can get enough participation, to help us make up our minds.

If our current designs weren't so badass and innovative, I would share.....but everytime I share stuff we do way before we offer it, it bites us in the ass.....lol. Luckily though, the companies who always knock our stuff off are primarily in the drag racing suspension world, and the "handling" companies already have their designs out - so we'll see.

I am all about doing what the end user wants. I did that with our super stiff sway bars, and those things fly off the shelf. It pays to listen! ;)

I waited a long time for BMR to come up with their watts link. I bought and installed the Fays2 and it is excellent. I have other BMR parts on my car and considered it, but a promise that keeps being postponed is not good business.
The summer in Michigan's UP is short.

I am very sorry you feel that way.

I feel it is excellent business to keep everyone informed on our process. To be honest, I don't see ANY other company doing this stuff, especially a company of our size and nature.

It would be very simple to just pop out of no-where and say, here is our new Watts Link ready for order! Buy now!

That Fays2 is an excellent product, and I am confident that you will enjoy it.

The good news is, we are very close to shipping the first batch out. I have actually stopped taking pre-orders as we approached the 50 mark. I was only expecting like 10, to be completely honest. 50 of them, just from people seeing these threads - craziness!

Sorry, Kelly. But the feedback on this forum at least was not good.
I must have checked your website dozens of times.
I think you might have a great product.
Good luck.

Come on guys BMR has only been teasing us with this since 4/14/14 of last year. Surely you can wait another year for a diff mounted version. LOL

I head product development for an automotive tool company and there's plenty of projects we have that are older than a year. If we told our customers about them as soon as we started developing it they would think all we do it sit on our asses, which is why we announce products 1 month before they are on the shelves of warehouses.

This also means we get nearly zero feedback from people that buy or use the tools and the design is finalized before people even know about it. Also, we just are stabbing at what the demand will be. We've slowly made 4000 units of something that we got 13,000 orders of in the first month - which made a huge delay in trying to retool/material order/manufacture the backlog.

Instant market feedback and live demand forecasting is something I only dream about, but we don't have the balls BMR does.

So props to them.

Unfortunately we cannot please everyone, and we realize that.

What matters is that we offer a solid product at a great price for the consumer.

If we don't become the worlds highest volume seller for S197 Watts Links, or people are put off by the lengthy development and testing process, so be it. There are many other Watts Links out there that may have your name on them.

;)
