Okay... ffs. So I just did another pull, it dropped about ten degrees out since earlier today. Boom, 19 PSI. WHAT THE HELL. How the fuck am I pulling 19 psi with a 3.0 pully. This is so frustrating. What is it, +1 psi every 10 degrees of air? How does 2.65 to 3.0 only drop 2 PSI. Christ sakes.
These pullys are not free ya know. I swear to god ive got like 350 dollars tied up in freaking pullys. This diy project is officially pissing me off.

Oh well, lito says to roll with it, as it gets warmer psi will prob drop. And to plan for a cam and better exhaust in the future.
I guess the 4.6 builds a lot more flipping boost than them gt500 engines.

So future options: Cam, exhaust or I guess full e85 conversion. I really don't want to do headers since I have to pass visual inspection here and there is no way in hell I'm swapping headers out everytime its time for inspection. So idk.

Guess I'm def going to have to keep the cats off after i pass inspection. The pypes H pipe didnt mate very well to the collector pipe, it was leaking like everywhere around the flange so that explains the funny sound and smell. Also dislike the tone I got from that.. I guess I'll try a prochamber next as I've heard good things there.

Now if I could just stop this belt squeak when it first starts up. I'm thinking it may be one of the idler pullies actually, maybe one of the bearings is failing.
I've hunted these down with WD40 and the little straw. Hose the pulleys down one at a time till the noise stops. You found the bad idler.

What's wrong with 19psi? I've run 19psi on pump with no problem. And it will drop when it's 75deg+ out anyway.

It's pretty rare when you hear people complaining about too much boost!:roflsquared:

You would have to spin the tits off of a KB 2.6, Whipple 2.3 or a Roush TVS to see 19psi. The 2.3's you probably couldn't spin fast enough. I've never seen one make 19psi, let alone 21psi.

That Trinity TVS is putting some work in!

I'm just pretty nervous about smoking my engine. My hobby fund is at a solid 0 at this point so it would be awhile before I could rebuild the thing. Lito says 18 psi on 93 is borderline on the safe zone, so 19 isn't helping and the guy who built my engine said to only take it to 17 psi on 93 pump as well. Sooo thats going into my paranoia. Yeah I'm really impressed with how much work this tvs is putting in. I mean its great to know this thing has a lot of potential for an even sicker build but for now I want to keep my engine together lol

Oh and as an added bonus, never figured out if my knock sensors actually work. So there goes another safety net.

I've seen a TON of boost gauges that read wrong. Like 50% of them. It may not be a bad idea to confirm that either.

Can't you put a BOV on it and top out the boost wherever you'd like?

Quickly figured out this isn't a centrifugal. Think before you type. I guess that's one advantage of a centri.

Well she went into limp mode today. Two codes, p2104 p2107, looks like throttle body related. Thing was running just fine. Throttle body position sensor or something on the other side?

Just read through your whole build! Congrats on the setup. I feel for you with all of the issues you have been having. Good to know that you have the potential in the blower to go more. Alternator looks nice, are you going to paint the back side? Good luck in fixing all of your issues!

I bought caliper paint from advance auto - took the alternator apart and gave it 3 coats.

Thanks man.. yeah this thing is trying my patience. I like working on it don't get me wrong but its the unexpected problems that take their toll. I decided to only paint the part I could easily take off of the alternator to avoid getting any spray in the coil windings. I'm going to paint the valve covers the same color eventually!! :)

Changed the stepper motor on the throttle body, no change. Going go try the TPS tmr. Should I be resetting the ecu by pulling the battery after changing each part?

Oh and added bonus: reverse lockout is broke, I'm thinking its the selenoid - there is no lockout, I can shift her right into reverse while flying down the highway. awesome.

Dang, didn't know you had a Trinity sitting on top of there. You're definitely going to enjoy that exhaust.

That makes sense on the alternator. I think it will look pretty sick with the valve covers painted to match! Makes me want to do some painting in my engine bay.

Well, I took out the TB, changed the stepper motor and the TPS, still had codes. Then I swapped the stock parts back in, and the codes went away. WTF I guess the throttle body was bound up maybe? Idk, the blades were turning fine.. Why does my mustang have a ghost in the engine bay.

In other news, the hub I put on the supercharger scout shaft decided to spin and move today.. so now the pully is way forward and out of alignment.
I can only assume that from me re-positioning it one time during the initial fitment screwed the interference fit and now its not tight enough. So I'm either going to get a new one from DoB or make one myself out of steel.

Hurray!

Wow, I wonder what happened that made it slip. I've had people (Crownaviation) pull them off and press them on multiple times without trouble. I didn't find out untill he did it a few times and told him that he couldn't do that, LOL. Apparently HE could.

As far as I know there only two that have come off both had horrible belt/tensioner issues. And the SC pulleys weren't the only casualties.

Are you counting mine? hehe

yea my hub came off and wound up laying on a hose or something rather than rocketing off through some grass and weed's never to be found again, would have sucked.

Mine just shredded the belt and needed a new hub machined for it from Jason.

Yeah, I'm assuming the interference fit isn't a whole lot since the diameters we are talking here are small, like 1-2 thou I'd assume. Aluminum is soft.. so after you heat and fit it once it probably grows a little. Do it twice and it grows a little more and loses some of its tightness. I'm assuming this is what happened and why it moved. I'd say this is a once and done part, need to get it right on there the first time.

Yeah, I'm including yours. I believe the Jim had his hands on yours at one point.

I went bonkers on those. They're 6-7 thou. There is so much interference fit that one on the shaft the OD grows a couple of thou.

I've considered doing them out of steel. But there have been very few issues. And no issues when they're done correctly (Yeah, I'm poking a little fun) so I haven't made any changes. Maybe it's time to start thinking about that.

Lol no worries, I know I screwed the pooch on it. When I pulled it off the first time it galled real hard so I'm sure I really wiped out a significant amount of material on the ID of that thing.
