The TCI Outlaw is also an option for a shifter. It has the 2 buttons for manual shifting, the software will switch to manual mode when the shifter is pulled back 1 click from drive. Just FYI

so much info on this thread, im glad to see someone finally came out with something to make the 6r80 work on the 3v's, i love 3v mustangs they hold a special place in my heart. Gonna try to convince my little borthers to get rid of their manual trannys and go this route. one has a tr6060 swap (whipple blower, stroker built motor car) and the other keeps destroying tr3650 (stock block kenne bell blower car). So i am assuming the cheapest way to go is to get an F150 transmission

I've been following this thread for a few years now and have now acquired several parts including the transmission to complete the 6R80 swap into my 06. I currently have a stock longblock twin turbo but am in the process of building a BOSS 5.0 ported head combo to replace it.

I originally planned to drop in the new engine and have it tuned with the 3650 behind it before doing the 6R80 swap. Between the delays with the engine build and knowing there is a good chance I will destroy the 3650 with 800+ rwhp I'm starting to think it would be a better idea to do the 6R80 swap before I drop in the built engine. The only reason I haven't started the 6R80 swap was due to finding the correct 6 bolt flexplate that would work with the 6R80. I currently have a flexplate for the 5.0 coyote and the 5R55 but based on previous posts about the measurement differences I've been hesitant on pulling the trigger until I had the built engine with the 8 bolt crank to use the coyote flexplate.

Does anyone have a part number for a 6 bolt flexplate that works with this swap? I'm thinking it would probably be easier to complete the 6R80 swap in my current configuration before swapping to a higher horsepower setup.

Also, I'd like to run the TCI 5R55 shifter with an 11-14 shifter cable so I don't have to modify the center console if possible. I've seen posts where some guys have used the stock 05-09 auto shifter with success so I assume it should be possible to use the 05-09 TCI ratchet shifter with the 6R80 but would like someone to confirm this. TIA

You can use the stock block plate, it didn't line up perfectly but it works. You can use the same bolts.

I had the tuner set the tune file to 40 but no way I know to confirm it. We were wiring the speedometer output to the blue yellow wire at the PCM, I forget which pin, but I moved it straight to the pigtail that plugged into the original transmission to avoid any errors
Which pig tail in the trans didnyou put the speed meter
