I just installed AM Bullitt 18x9s with 255/45s and 19x10s with 275/40s. Prior to purchasing I looked and couldn't find pics of this setup so I thought I'd post it for anyone interested. The car is lowered 1.5" front and rear. Overall, I'm happy with the stance though I think the rear needs to drop a little more.

The rear slightly higher that the front looks good on our body style.

The 18s and 19s is purely an aesthetic thing. For the 05s to 09s the fronts and rears look out of proportion to me when the same rim diameter is used. I also considered 19s and 20s but for cost and other reasons went with the other.

The rear on the S197s have higher stances than the front from the factory anyhow. So I don't see what putting different size wheels/tires are going to accomplish, to begin with anyhow:shrug: IMHO, the body style of the S197s look much better when they're level.

Looks good and if you like it that's what matters. Uncommon but not unheard of for factory setups to have different wheel diametesr front to rear, the 2011ish SVTPP gt500 setup was 19's & 20's I believe, some vettes are similar. I currently run fully square wheel/tire setup but sometimes miss when I had same diameter wheels but a taller rear tire giving the car some rake.

It's just a visual trick with the rim sizes. The tire sizes I selected are close in diameter to the OE, about 27 1/4". The fronts are slightly smaller and the rears slightly larger so the rake angle wasn't changed hardly at all with the new set up. That said, the tail is still a little higher than I'd like so I'll be looking at 1/2" lower rear springs soon.

I have a 2011 GT with the same wheels, but 18" front and back. I love the retro look. However, the car is being lowered as we speak about 1.5" all around.
I am considering going to 19's or 20's for two reasons. It's also getting 410 gears installed and that may be a bit much for street driving. Also, I am looking at installing GT 500 Brembo brakes that I hear do not fit within the 18" rims. Anyone have experience with that setup?

I currently have chrome bullitts from AM on all 4 x corners. Fronts are 18 x10 with 285-40-18 rubber.
Rears are 19 x 10 with 305-35-19 rubber. Interesting to note that it's extremely difficult to see that the rear rims are 1" bigger diameter than the fronts. Nobody will ever notice you have 2 x different sized rims. I used 3mm thick HR hubcentric spacers on the fronts, and still loads of threads left. Front et is now 45-3 = 42mm. Rears are et-48mm. Front lowered 1/2"...and rear lowered 1 1/4". Still has rake to it. This is on a 2010.

Depends on what year GT500. That's Raybestos 2009 GT500 fronts and 2014 GT500 backs from Rockauto/Amazon under 18inch Base Wheels. You need 17mm spacers in the front and 1 inch extenders in the back. Takes about three hours and works great on the street. I like the look with 255/45/18 Run Flat Tires on Base Wheels. The real 2014 GT500 15 inch rotor is 41 lbs. That is a lot of weight and that is said not to fit under 18 inch wheels. The standard ABS setting works well under this setup as I have not changed the balance of the old Base Brakes.

Why did you bring brakes into this thread? Had NOTHING to do with the OP's post. NOTHING!

OP....I like it. It looks good. As said, some cars came with different diameter wheels. It's all a "looks" thing. I always thought this body style would look good with this kind of staggered sizing.

Well someone on this thread first posted about GT500 Brembo Brakes under 18 inch wheels and it was not me. They do fit with a few adaptors and the work is about 3 hours. This is something that can be very eazy reversed in another 3 hours of you do not like it. Do it yourself with knockoffs is about $600. Professional install, about $1000.

Great look! I have one level, another with a rake like yours. One looks ready for the track, the other ready for stoplight wars. The 18/19 gives the illusion of more wheel/less rubber overall (IMO) vs all 18's, softens the potholes, and tones down the chrome. Chrome is good, in correct doses (and yes, probably an age thing). I personally think it's a bit retro, less is more, very clean look!
