Buddy of mine sent me a Diablosport tuner to try, figured why not? 50 State legal which is a big plus in CA too. Anyways I ran my car on a Gtech (basically similar to a Dragy but about 10 years older) and stock it went 14.26 at 98....which seemed about right. Tuned, 13.69 at 102! Car has better throttle response too. I was pretty dang impressed for a "canned" tune. I can already see those 12s on the horizon with gears and slicks

Edit: Car is an '08 4.6L 5spd....

I wouldn't put too much stock in a single run to single run comparison with a Gtech. Way too many variables. The time and trap speed differences suggest you picked up 40 to 50 HP which you definitely didn't.

Either your stock tune was shitty or your first run was slow. With the canned tune, your car is performing as a stock car should.
Getting into the 12s isn't difficult and only requires some simple bolt ons that won't cost much. That's plenty enough performance for a street car.

I gained 35HP+/- with my tune so I think his gains make sense.

I also had off road h-pipe and JLT.

I made a few runs. I'm sure I could have done better at the track. Also the car is heavy...grabber system, spare, stereo with two 12s etc. 3850 with me in it. Picked up 20-25rwhp from 4000-6000 if the Gtech is to be believed. Diablosport claims 23rwhp.

Yeah my old S55 went 12.99 at 108, I just wanna get back there maybe with more launch and less mph. I'm going with "It was on the street and the car was heavy" as to why it was slow stock.

Little bit of an update...went to the track and ran a best of 13.91 at 102...on a horrible track. Street hooked better. MPH was 104 (!) on a different pass, gotta try and figure out what I did different. I'm shifting at around 6000rpm, going through the traps about the same in 3rd...maybe 6100 or 6200. Gears and tire can't come soon enough!
