should i change my fuel line with headers?

So the shorty headers put out more heat and the stock fuel line running to the fuel rail runs right over top of it a few inches above. This line seems like a hard plastic? I was looking online and saw this on ebay and another sold by edlebrock for even less. I'm worried about the stock line getting to hot, but then i'd be worried about this aftermarket line leaking. I had almost forgotten about it, but the stainless steel insulated fuel line was one of my upgrades on my car. Man, what a frustrating experience that was! Took me 2 days to finally get it secured with those ridiculous clips. And that was after several attempts in the weeks prior where I stopped before pulling the old line because of how difficult it looked.

I don't know if the new line was any better than the old line but I've never heard of any stock fuel lines failing due to exhaust heat.

I have that line (Russell) since day one, never leaked or give me any problems.

I have BBK shorties and no issues with fuel lines and proximity to the header tubes. If your concerned there are several source for thermal tap or wrap for the fuel lines.

I think i might go that route. Lately i've been creating problems.

Removing the OEM line was a bit discouraging, since i didn't have the tools for it. Get the right tool for the quick connect fitting and you won't have any problems,also remove your driver side front wheel and the plastic inner fender cover, that will give you all the room you need to remove the OEM fuel line. post pictures when done.

How much boost are you running, 20 psi?

I see about 50 psi under full boost, 11 psi boost. You should only see +39 psi over manifold pressure/vacuum.

3.25 inch pulley so 11-12psi. My vacuum at idle is about 22hg, but letting off at high rpms causes the vacuum to hit 24hg or even higher. it also depends on what injectors you are running. i'm still using the ford gt injectors that came with the HO gen 1 500hp kit. I think they are only rated at 34lb at 39psi. If you have larger injectors then you won't need higher pressure. Even the whipple supplied tuned would hit 60+psi.

I don't know what to tell you, my car is N/A. you may have to make your own -8na line, they are not that hard to make. Plenty of videos on Google to show you how.

I ordered the Russell fuel line. From Russell/Edelbrock took 3 months to get it. I ended up just buying the hose and fittings from Summit but at twice the cost.
I found it easier to remove the left fender well and ac condenser to access the fuel line.
