LOL !!!! This thread is BS ! I really dont care and should have stayed out but to be clear I get 14 - 16 mpg and love it so there is no skin off my ass ! I just think these 30 + mpg are people playing with the comp calculations and not real world . Just like all the other Ford (8) vehicles I have bought in the last several years. Point was the computer calculation is shit and dont count on it !

I think one thing pople have to understand is changing in the car and get the pos to report wrong info like changes in tire size and not updating it in the tune.

my iup told me I was getting 31mph at 70mph... BS

I know there is some dork out there that is bragging about his gt gets 40 per gallon.. haha

you guys must not read posts. i said i do my own calculating with a calculator and it still comes out to be with in .2 of what my heads up display says.

The best I ever got was 27 hwy and that was trying to get good mpg. That was with stock 17" and an auto trans. I recently switched to 18's and it seems my mileage dropped a little even though the tire diameter is almost the same.

GEEEEZZZZ....if I wanted 30ish MPG I would got a econobox honda civic. Yes I'm sure I can get high 20s MPG if I drove like an old lady but i don't so my average mpg is around 12 - 16 depending on how hard I drive any given day... Now, move this thread to Modular Fords...

Hasn't anyone ever heard of trolling? If you have nothing constructive to add to a thread, don't post at all. BBR John and Wes have both added new information as well as personal best mpg.

I think the subtext in our posts is why is this thread on a known PERFORMANCE S197 website? In all the time I lurk here (and occasionally post), I have never seen anyone concerned with the best MPG. Next thing we'll have a sub-forum for the hypermilers and how they can beat the Prius crowd in the mpg games those douches play!

So what was your MPG on your 12.99 pass?

However, if your odometer is incorrect, your calculator is useless.

well i have the tire revs and gear corrected in the tune so it should be just as accurate as from the factory.

Well the only way to truely check is to go find a speedometer check point. They have them on most highways. They usually consist of a 0-5 mile range...get started at 55 mph at the 0 marker keep your speed at that level. Now pull on the wheel as fast and as hard as you can to the right. :stooges:

Better to just get on the freeway, set/lock the cruise control at 100mph (easier to extrapolate correction info from) and then go through a speed trap. Ask the officer to show you his radar reading. It should be pretty accurate.

some ignorant people in this thread...if they read alittle closer they would realize some of us calculated as previously mentioned. BTW, I drive 100 miles each day so gas mileage plays a huge roll for me as I'm not trading in my car since i've always owned atleast one mustang. If I get can 27-29 mpg daily with the 3.31's and still run 12.97 i'm quite happy...much like my dad's vette that gets 32 mpg but only ran 13.40's@108 :) Now with the 4.10's it gets about 25-27 with the same commute while being EASY on it just like before the gear swap. If you guys are getting 14 mpg while still on a nearly stock longblock then something is wrong. I guess my 95 gt getting 27.0 mpg with 3.27's and my 89 coupe getting 28.1 mpg wiht 3.31's isn't believable either.

To be honest about it my car says I am getting 21 mpg with 700 hp and 60# injectors . Do I know what it really is ? No, but it is much less. I just busting balls here , but my whole point is do not trust the comp calculation for your milage . I drive a 100 mi commute each day as well each way though , but about 350 total per day so I know how milage can play a factor in alot of peoples lives . This really should be in the Chit Chat sec though and it would be taken more serious there rather then tech .
