Friday was mostly a detail day. The wood floor installer came back to install the 1/4-round trim. To be honest, I think I could have done a better job. I also selected a company to do the garage floor epoxy coating. That work will start on Sept 14. In the back yard, some grading was done and a few forms were set for the flatwork concrete.

The big item on the schedule for next week is the granite countertops will be going in!

It’s hard to see, but the dirt has been graded for the flatwork.

After the Labor Day weekend, work resumed on Tuesday with additional grading in the back yard in preparation for the flat work concrete. I think we spent more time trying to figure what colors to use than they did working that day.

Wednesday was a big day. The granite countertops finally arrived. They look great to my eyes! I also installed a couple more ceiling fans… but who cares. The granite arrived!

looking beautiful
Thanks! :beerdrink:

Wow man I can't imagine how good it must feel to say 2 weeks until move in....... kinda sad though... what the hell are we gonna read once your done? lol.... maybe a quest for 9's thread?? lol
We're getting pretty stoked about it being less than 2 weeks away. But at the same time, we also realize how much crap we still need to do and deal with between now and then. It's a little overwhelming at times. But it will be worth it in the end!

BTW... "Quest for 9's"... that has a nice ring to it!

That looks great Don.

I was over at Don's house yesterday (Wednesday) checking out the TV cable conduit from the street to is house. It was a good thing Don called me. His TV connection out in the street is across the street from his house and his cable comes across the street to what we call a loop through. Well the loop through was damaged in the fires. But the other small problem was getting a new cable from across the street to the new conduit that Don's contractors installed up to the side walk.
I had already talked to our construction guy the day before and Wednesday he and another guy went over to Don's house to check things out. While they were there the blow out the conduits and will be back Sunday to complete everything for Don. They will fix the conduit and run RG11 cable also.

Lucky for Don I'm a supervisor (service & installation) for the TV company, LOL.

No worries if it's RG6, I'll pull RG11 for you later on. If the construction crew comes out on Sunday and you happen to be there tell them to change it. When I get into work Sunday I'll give them a call too.

Don't worry about it I'll take care of you.

The work on Thursday and Friday was all outside. The drip irrigation system installation was started, and the masons moved to the front of the house to begin the veneer on the front wall. This is the same veneer that is on the columns of the house.
