Trying to see if anyone here has had any experience with a jon lund tune on a highly modified 3v engine. I'm thinking about having a remote tune done by him locally, I know he works wonders with all the 4v motors but mine is a whole different animal. Any info would be awesome!

Lund is considered one of the best tuners out there. Ron (94tbird) used him on his car and was very please.

What are your mods?

Why not use JDM/Brenspeed/Tillman etc?

can those guys remote tune? i thought they just did mail order? would they have the car on the dyno and tune it remotely or would they just have tunes that are already set up? Just wondering, i have a Lund tune now and will be uping the boost and was thinking about a JDM or BBR tune if i couldnt get Lund to retune it.

He tuned Chris's car (cruzin2much) and he made over 900whp. I heard a lot of good things about him. He does a lot of evolutions tunes as well.

Some of the fastest Mustangs in the Mid-Atlantic and North East have passed though his hands.

Don't tell my sponsors ;-) but I am going to try to schedule an "in-person" tune at JPC either in March or April. I already spoke to Justin about it... just waiting for the funds to come through.

wow, awesome to see such a great response from everyone, this really makes me feel better about getting a tune from him. Hoping to make some serious power and I've seen the gt500's he did and I was really impressed. Thanks guys!

Hands down one of the best guys in the Mustang tuning business! My car is tuned by him and it made great power. I couldn't be more satisfied. Hes a very down to earth guy to. You have nothing to worry about with him. He tunes all of Evolution cars!

They don't tune mustangs anymore, South Texas Performance is actually using henderson's dyno to tune mustangs now. And Jon is suppost to be a Maximum Velocity but there is no set date as of right now. I will most likely just get a remote tune from him first

Son of a... That sucks as they're the closest to me and easy to get to.

It looks like STP has a good deal on gear installs. They're saying $375 for everything you need...I assume that includes the install too? I needs me some 4.10s. :)

It's too bad there's no really good perf shops in Austin. :/ I guess too many weirdo hippies or something.

John is an awesome tuner but you have to remember "Tuning" isn't his first job. You will have to schedule tuning and dyno time around him. I know we had a sour experience a couple months ago with trying to line up a remote tune from him.

"This isn't bashing him in the least bit just an experience I have personally had with him."

My friend has a new 2010 GT500 with EVO Ultimate TVS Package installed on it and it came with a voucher to set up a remote tune with John. I was going to Total Performance Solutions on a Saturday to get a couple things tweeked in my tune after a couple intake mods done and my friend got a call from John on Friday afternoon after trying to set up a tune for a couple weeks. His schedule had freed up on Saturday and could tune his car then, so we set it up with Wes to do the remote tuning over there as the car already had Wes's tune on it. My buddy wanted to try out the John Lund tune to see if there was a difference as he had already paid for it. I get there and my buddy was running a little late as the tuning session was not part of his schedule for the weekend. He gets there 1 1/2 hours later than scheduled (He had a 2 1/2 drive to get there as he was out of state) and they make a pull on Wes's tune just to verify everything is fine before loading John's tune. Well Wes's tune made 660 rwhp and 640 rwtq on 19 psi., John was communicating by IM and asked why were we waisting his time as his tune wouldn't net anymore hp over what was already in the car. It got my friend discouraged as he was under the impression John's tune would get him over 700 rwhp (as per Evolution Performance) to the advertised 875HP rating of the kit they sold. After Wes, my buddy, and John were talking the remote tuning wasn't completed due to the numbers the car made were better than John had been getting remote tuning.

We sent an email to John a couple days later to ask some questions and got a really shitty response from him. He was mad because we wasted his time but in all reality we were expecting him to pull a rabbit out of his hat to make the advertised numbers from Evolution Performance. No one really expected better numbers due to him having to remote tune but we were not expecting the attitude from him when it didn't go his way.

As stated above: This is not bashing, just a personnel experience I have had with him. I still think he is an awesome tuner and ONE of the BEST in the country for tuning.
