Nice passes... that car really moves on the bottom end of the track.

Is that stall number right? 4800 is mega huge!

Some thoughts... I would say you want a 3500 tops for your setup, and stall that sucker up at the tree. You get it commin out of the hole right and take your 60' down to 1.6, you could be running mid-upper 11's NP.

Yep, my converter flashes to 4800 rpm's. It started life as a 3600 rpm unit before the blower went on. The extra power of the blower pushes it up to 4800 rpm's. I really need it to flash that high, as my Vortech blower is a centrifugal blower so it doesn't make any real power until then. Peak torque in a stock 4.6L 3V is at 4250 rpm's, but my powerband is much higher with peak torque coming at 5200 according to my dyno graph, so I need a big stall to get into the meat of the powerband.

I've tried every launch rpm possible with my converter. The manufacturer says you get the biggest hit (best STR for best launch) by launching from idle. I've tried a bunch of runs from idle. I've tried a bunch from close to 3000 rpm's (which is about where the tires will want to start spinning against the brakes). But, I've gotten my best 60's and ET's by launching from about 2000 rpm's against the brakes then mashing the gas on the last amber (and it immediately flashes to 4800 rpm's on launch when I release the brakes).

No matter what I do, I can't get the 60' below a 1.79. Lots of 1.80's. My automatic trans and stock suspension just can't launch any quicker than that, IMO. Maybe with some aftermarket suspension goodies?

I got a new personal best today.

Hey Chris, your car runs real strong, i did get this run on tape to, along with alot of your other passes from the Rental that day. Only thing that pissed me off was i left my video card at home, so the runs are only tape recorded.. :/

It was good talking to you that day, my brother ran a best of 11.68 and the record he wnated to beat is a 11.65, so close but no cigar. Maybe next time out he'll get it, he needs hoodie weather.
