should i replace my rear end s spring with a f150 sping?

hey guys i just currently replaced my clutches in my rear end. i was getting a random 1 wheel peel at the track . so i read somewhere people where replacing the s spring in the rear end with the f150 spring it supposed to be heavier duty ? should i replace it with one or just put the stock one back in?
i want to order tonight . so i hope someone will chime in .

F-150 spring works good. I use to do that on all my foxbodies. If I ever go into this rear will add one also. For the price, works good.

Squeeze it together in a bench vise then use a couple worm gear style hose clamps to hold it together. Slide/tap it into place and cut the hose clamps off with tin snips as you go. For the cost of a couple hose clamps you'll save alot of time and aggravation.

These rearends (05-up) already have the heavy duty spring. Fox's and SN's don't.

I'd just rebuild your clutch pack if I were you. It's inexpensive and works. You can go with the carbon fiber clutches that the cobras have that work better. They're just a little more money.

There is a MUCH simpler/easier way to do it.

Grab the spring in the middle of the "S" with a large pair of pliers. Hold the spring in place and while pushing with the pliers, smack the back of the head of the pliers with a large mallet or dead blow. It may take a couple hits, but it'll pop right in. That's it.

Then you didn't have a hold on it with the pliers. Unless you let go of the pliers, the spring isn't going anywhere.

Have done it both ways. I'll just say that I'm more comfortable with the hose clamp method for all the extra time it takes.

It's Ford part number F3TZ-4214-A. This spring is used in all F-series, Bronco, Explorer, Ranger, 01-04 Cobra, and 05-current Mustang rearends with the 31 spline axles and 8.8 ring gear.

The older spring is part number EOAZ-4214-A. This was used in all 28 spline limited slip rears.

This is fact.
