I finally sold my wheels, so I'm looking at buying a non-cooled centri setup. I'm at 344/324 rwhp/tq now with lt's, o/r x, comp stage 2 spr's, c&l intake manifold, jlt cai, and steeda udp's. With a safe tune, how much power can I make and not be scared? I'm looking at a v2 sq with a 3.33 pulley non-cooled. How much power should that make, and should I be ok? If not, would leaving my udp's on help at all?

Thanks

Congrats on selling the big wheels man! As for the centri setup, non intercooled you should be able to hit a nice 400rwhp.. I personally know someone in my car club with an automatic GT, 4.10s, highflow cats and everything else is stock + a whipple non intercooled.. It did 405rwhp, its been running that for well over a year and a half.

That would only be 50 more hp than Im at now. You think that's the safest I can run?

Another question, can bama/AM give me a tune to get to a dyno with my setup? I've got there free tunes from when I bought there jlt/sct package 3 years ago.

Most places can write you a tune to start/drive the car to get to the dyno, just stay out of the boost on your way there.

That dyno seems a little bit generous. What numbers did it make stock, I gained about 100whp from the non-intercooled setup, and another 130 when I intercooled it and dropped the pulley.

On the v3 with a 3.4 pulley and intercooler I'm making 12 lbs of boost, without the intercooler your probably going to be at 14 or so on a 3.33 pulley.

I had the Non-IC FRPP / Whipple kit and made just shy of 400whp.. Good kit, but my IAT's were near 200 and as soon as I had the money I upgraded.

Cooling your intake is vital
If you ever made it out to the wednesday night meets last year you prolly saw some highschooler in a blue GT with all sorts of body crap on it. He ran non cooled at 400ish for less than a year I think and blew it up. I originally told him he should get an intercooler instead of buying more body junk. He told me to go fuck myself. Now he uses one lol.

You can make more than 400 easy without the intercooler, unfortunately your intake temps are going to be the bigger risk factor there. Hotter air is less dense, it's asking for trouble, especially once you get into summer weather.

Dont run a 3.33 pulley on a non-cooled Vortech. You will blow it up. I have a 3.48 pulley with meth, and it sees 12.2 lbs. of boost at 6,600 rpm..And that is pushing it..If you want it to be "safe", and not run an after cooler or methanol, then I would stick with the 3.80 pulley and keep it around 8 lbs. of boost. But it will suffer on hot days..(75 degrees plus)..It will pull so much timing it will feel N/A when its really hot out..IMO, run meth or an after-cooler...

I'll get an aftercooler this summer, I just wanted to know what I needed to do untill then. Seems like I need to sell the 3.33 pulley and buy a bigger one. If I left my udp's on would that bring down the boost enough?

safest way to make it to the summer would be a larger pulley.Dont get caught up in dyno numbers too much until you are intercooled.50 or 60 HP bolt on for now will get you threw till the IC or a meth kit goes in.I would pull the UDP's and sell them.

+1. I have a V2 SQ S-trim (non-cooled) with no meth. I have the 3.80" pulley and still push 11 lbs of boost at redline. I'm still corked up with factory exhaust manifolds & mufflers, so with better exhaust I could likely lower boost while gaining power. That said, through an automatic and on a stingy Mustang Dyno, I put down 393 rwhp with a very conservative daily driver tune. That's about 150 rwhp more than stock, so a darn good bang-for-the-buck.
