Hey Guys,

Just thought i'd post up the pics of the oil filter relocation i did. I used the $40 Summit kit. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G4985-1/
Install is pretty easy, just make sure you use teflon on the threads and really tighten them up as much as you possibly can. :thumb: I mounted mine on the driver side frame rail under the headlight. It seems to be the location most people use. I can now drop the filter without jacking the car up, and without having the filter knock into the swaybar and spill oil all over the PS lines.

Anyway - here's the pics:
Front End off:

Adaptor mounted on the block:

Hoses run (measure twice - cut once):

Filter bracket mounted:

So far I'm totally happy with it. No Leaks, and oil changes should be as easy as my gf's S2000 now! :beerdrink:

You trust those clamps with the life blood of your engine ?

Summit failed to include clamps in my kit even though they were supposed to. I had to use whatever my local store had in the mean time. I'll be upgrading them soon, as these worm clamps are a temporary fix. Although so far, no leaks. :thumb:

Okay....

The clamps still aren't leaking, but I want to upgrade them anyway. Anyone have a link to a good set of replacements?

Thanks!

Ive had ss worm gear clamps on my oil filter relocation for a year with no problems. Theres really not many other options out there beside going to ss lines and an fittings which is just more money for "pretty" lines and fittings with steel braiding.

Yeah I guess that makes me feel better. Its not leaking at all, but I know those worm clamps aren't the greatest things in the world. I hunted around a little on Summit for small t-bolt clamps that small, but I don't think they make them. I'm not worried about looks since you can't even see any part of this.

Yeah you wont get a t-bolt that small to work. I mean worm gear clamps suck on boost piping but other that they work just fine really.

Looks like a decent kit - anybody running 2 filters with one of these? Or does anyone know of a company that sells a relocation kit that's built to accommodate multiple filters?

All you need is second oil filter adaptor plate and some more hose.
Run the out from the first filter and instead of going back to the engine route it to the in of the second filter and then from there route it back to the engine.

Summit has all these parts in kits and individualy.

I suggest taking both ends off and going to a shop that makes hydraulic hoses, they can use yours for samples, and have them make you up a set. Might cost a little more but they will work without any fear of blowing a hose or fitting due to pressure.

Just curious why you'd want 2 filters? The filter that will be used on the relocation brackets is a lot larger than stock anyway.

Just added protection man - I'm running 7k RPM's for 30 minutes at a time on the road course. I've got a lot of dough into this engine and want it to last as long as possible. Filters and oil are cheap compared to rods and bearings.

Get some fuel injection clamps on there. They are under a dollar a piece, for safety. They look better also. U have to remember that it still is pressurized from the oil pressure. U can get fuel injection clamps from napa.
