I've got this 302 stroker and 10 rib kit on and I'm going to run 14 lbs boost max. I'm sure 14 psi is close to the stock TB's limits and I'm looking for an answer on this.

I don't want to waste the clams if it won't benefit my set up at all or even just a little. Heading to JPC soon for a dyno tune and I want to be prepared if I should replace the stock TB.

I see that GT500 TB's are available new for a little over $100. That would probably be the way I'd go.

I would get the GT500 TB if I were you. With a 302 stroker, stage 2 cams, whipple at 14psi I would be willing to bet you would see 35rwhp gains maybe more. A guy pushing 8psi I believe on his saleen gained 25rwhp from the TB upgrade.

22psi with the stock throttle body. Im also forcing the air through the passage, that makes a big difference. With the Saleen, I went from a stock throttle body to a whipple monoblade and picked up minimal if any at 18psi.

go for the L&M TB. Justin can show you the Bullitt when your there. L&M TB, Whipple 105mm maf, 80lb injectors, FR Aluminator (9.8:1), Whipple HO with 10 rib 15lb kit, AR LT's. Justin base lined it at 579rwhp. He is now adding stage 2 blowers cams and Kevin will do a custom tune.

OEM TB

A lot of guys have swapped to a aftermarket TB and only to go back to the stock, I am one. Many opinions on this but me and a lot of people running 16psi+ are having no restrictions, Save your money IMHO! Good luck with your choice..

Damn, that's some good looking metal there. I'm just looking to make my 14psi run it's best. I mean, I'm not competing in the NMRA or any shit like that. Point is, if a throttle body will make a substantial difference at 14psi, then ok, but if it's going to be miniscule, then fuck it, this is a street vehicle. I think I might go with the one from JimIII with the adapter plate.

I'd love to drop the clams, but this project is getting pricey. At 14 psi the GT500 TB will do just fine. I bought the JDM set up for $200. Can't beat that shit. I think we might just have to do a back to back dyno comparo. Justin Burcham told me the twin screws do well with a larger TB across the RPM range. I'm sure they love the initial gulp of air anytime the throttle is hit.

Thanks JimIII for the deal.

If you get the GT500 TB to work with the whipple, let us know.

And from all I've read, at 14 psi the TB will be the limiting factor.
