They are doing their job by giving you tickets when you drive 5 over. Most of the cops that you deal with are traffic cops and that's exactly what their job is. They aren't supposed to be dealing with the vice, narcotics, and domestic issues you mentioned.

yea i know that. no where in my post did i say i was above the law or anything like that, of course people are going to break the law when cops arent around, happens everyday. its when people break the law and get caught is when people start to complain about it. if i were to get caught street racing i wouldnt complain about it because i was breaking the law and got caught. simple as that. theres a time a place to do what i was doing and then was the time and the place. it was just me and the other car i was racing out in the country on the highway, its not like we were going down a populated community at WOT acting an A$$.

Well, I'm glad I'm at work because that gave me time to read all that.

I can go both ways on my feelings of cops. I grew up in a smallish town in PA where maybe a break-in or assault a week would happen and the cops there were the fattest laziest pieces of shit ever (think chief wiggum). They would follow you around and pull you over for any little thing. I was pulled over 8 times in my town in the month after I finished building my 89, twice for suspected DUI, the rest for various supposed shenanigans (loud exhaust -no law against, and "gettin on it" -their words), and never given a ticket. Once I pulled into my driveway and got out before he turned his lights on, and then proceeded to block me in.
Anyway, the cops out here in the bay area though, I have a lot of respect. The shit they deal with, with the manpower they have is more than I'd want to, and you can drive past them 20 over on the highway and they barely notice. They do seem to watch the orange though.

I still wouldn't trust them to come when I needed them.

Small town cops= Bored and need something to do.
Big town cops= Too much to do and if they're just sitting somewhere, then its break time.

out of most of my experiences the cops were money robbing punks. The one time I called for help was when my car got broken into and they took my check book and wrote checks.. cops didnt do shit.. and on his way out wrote me a ticket for being a month late on the reg.. so I guess if I have bad feelings towards them I'm not mature enough.. I guess if I get upset with the bull shit speed traps at bottoms of hills I'm not educated enough..

we got 20 million illegals running around killing Americans and cops just like the politicians have failed to protect us. So busting my ass for going 5-10 over is NOT the same. So if you want to slob a Spanish speaking mulit-cultural cops then go a head, but dont bash people that feel the other way.. I for one will never donate to the police like I used too.. I will never vote to increase head count since the liberal are doing it anyway with our money.

Now to the OP. Nazzz in front of Cops are bad and you did deserve the main ticket.. as for the others I think 4 was a little over kill.

Just because there are tons of laws in the book doesn't mean the cops have to uphold every single one. I have a penis but I don't nail everyone with a hole... its called discretion

I didn't read all the pages in this thread, so I'll just say this about the OP.

This kinda reminds me of my uncle (an old school hot rodder). One day we were out working on one of his project cars, and he mentioned that he got a speeding ticket. I asked what for and he told me that it was some kind of speed trap situation. Of course, I went off on the "F*** the police" style rant and how it was total bull shit. He quietly listened and smiled. Then he told me something that has really shaped how I view the cop vs. hot rodder game. He said, "Here's I look at it. I never get mad when I get a violation because well, I broke the law and I deserved it. But what keeps me from getting angry is I reflect on all the stupid stuff I DIDN'T get caught doing." He proceeded to tell me stories of burnouts, illegal exhaust, street races etc. He said, "If you totaled up all those violations, I'd be in the tens of thousands of dollars." He chuckled and said, "So I just consider it paying off my debts to society."

So I try to have a good attitude about tickets. Because honestly, how many of us follow the rules of the road 100% of the time? How many times have we gone 2 MPH over the speed limit, not used a blinker, not come to a complete stop, or done a small burnout at a green light?

I don't watch TV much but I saw the Police Women of _____ show recently, cincinatti I think it was.....a couple of those officers showed EVERYTHING that is wrong with police in my mind. The young blond officer if anyone knows what I'm talking about.
