nice consistant runs tonight-Your car runs very good for your mods - trying to get the data logs together on mine so I can send them to mike so he can make some revisions to my tune - shifting early on the 1-2 shift. Still playing with the launch technique also - 60's are ranging from 1.70's to 1.65's - but more toward the 1.65's the more runs I get- I am thinking my set up should be good for mid -high 11.40's when it is dialed in.

Took my 2012 GT to track last night too. Almost didn't make it through tech with the race stars. They said I need longer wheel studs because the race stars are shank style and stud has to extend past the wheel/washer area. So I'm either done racing the mustang, or had to deal with that.

Was consistent. DA was ~2400ft. Ran 11.94-11.95s all night. Corrected for DA that is 11.60s@118ish so very similar to other members.

Finally got the converter to work. Had to foot brake it up to get a good launch. Launch off idle just doesn't work for my car. Hoosiers were at 20-21psi hooking fine. Still need to dial tune in as it was shifting out of first early.

One thing to note is tech almost didn't let me run because of wheel studs on the race stars being too short. I've never had an issue before. Anyone else have an issue with passing tech on race stars because of needing longer studs?

Here is about 1/2 the slips.
Mods are Aidaid, MAP tune, BMR suspension parts, hoosier 28", 3.31s, and circle 4C.

I have heard the rule of the open lugs- but my track doesn't enforce it much unless you are on "true slicks" or are running sub 10 second passes. hell we have a "no et lane" which you pay a lil extra to run in and your times don't get displayed, on the board or the others time slip and they pretty much turn a blind eye to cages and the sort. until you start breaking the 150mph mark.

Pretty lame, as studs would be $140 or so, and then stick out on the street wheels and need open lugs for street wheels. My lugs are open for the racestars, but since they are a long shank, they said needs to extend past the wheel/lug.

First track day for this car.

DA was around 1400' for my best run according to dragtimes, so not great at all. We had a mild headwind, and I also need Mike Rousch to bump up my 1-2 shift...its shifting at only 6300 on the 1-2, the other shifts are perfect. I'm sure he'll send me a good revision. I'll go back again in a week to hopefully enjoy better conditions and better 1-2 shift.

'Excuses' aside, I'm pretty happy with it for the first day out with the car. 20+mpg on the way to and from the track on E85 to boot!

1/2 tank of E85 at the track with 47# injectors
Mike Rousch tuning
offroad x-pipe
Circle D 5C converter
Racestars, 255/60 M/T drag radials
Removed front sway bar
Spare tire removed

Stock intake manifold, airbox, driveshaft, gears, mufflers, exhaust manifolds

Mine is shifting early too

Yeah, I sent him an email with a datalog attached from one of today's runs. I know he likes to sneak up on the 1-2 shift to avoid any rev limiter bumping issues. Hopefully he can get us revised files with the shift bumped up.

Mine was shifting ~6500-6600 1-2. Haven't contacted him yet. I hate taking laptop to track because it would disappear so didn't do any logs. I hope he can just bump it a little at a time.

I just log directly to my SCT handheld and download it when I get home. Mine is right at 6300 on the 1-2. The 2-3 and 3-4 are right at 7000.

Congrats on new PR. That's great news. PR was pretty easy on me while chasing different issues (self tuned) I have around 15-20 mid to low 10 sec passes before they gave me a si glue warning. I'm adding a few lbs of boost and I'll definitely go for some glory passes at Bremerton once PR boots me!

I went back to Rock Falls Raceway in search of better ETs. The air was a little better (in the 850-900' range at the time of my best pass) but the car didn't really get quicker. I'm happy with how well and consistently the car ran. These are my two best passes. Made 8 passes, 6 of them in the 11.70s, two 11.80s. Worst ET was an 11.87, worst mph 114.3, worst 60' was a 1.69. Again there was a headwind, similar to last weekend. Also I haven't yet fixed the early 1-2 shift, it's still at 6300rpm. I'm sure Mike will get it sorted out for me.
Nice bracket car!

Here's a video of my slowest pass of the day yesterday, which happened to be alongside my good friend in his 2012 A6 Kona Blue GT. He has a Boss manifold, Airaid CAI, Mike Rousch tune, BBK longtubes and offroad h-pipe, some kind of aftermarket control arms, and 275/40-17 Nitto NT05Rs. He ran a 12.297 at 116.11 (2.02 60') vs my 11.879 @ 114.73 (1.69 60')

He just recently got the longtubes installed. Best time for his car yesterday was a 12.04 @ 116 with a 1.88 60'.

I agree, I expected that it would have dipped into the 11.90s at close to 120mph. It should be making a lot more top end power than my car. The car picked up about .10 and 1mph with the headers. My car consistently trapped about 1.5mph faster in the 1/8 mile, his was about 1mph faster in the 1/4, I'm guessing because of the Boss intake. Obviously his car would really benefit from a good converter like mine.

Nice work! If it would have rained here yesterday like it had been forecasted, I was planning to go down there today. Kinda wished I had now. Nice times! Cars always seem to run quicker down there, even with same DA.

+1 on the converter. That could easily drop his ET's into the mid 11's. His 60's would drop 2-3 tenths and the 1/4 mile would drop 4-5 tenths. Since his mods are great for high rpm's, a Circle-D converter that stalls in the 4-5K range would be ideal.

I believe his eventual goal with the car is a PD blower such as a Whipple, Saleen, etc, which is why he's holding off on a converter until he's sure of what he's doing in the long run.

That makes sense for his car.

If I ever supercharge my '14, I'd be looking at a centrifugal blower to better compliment the mods I already have. I did the same thing with my '07 GT. Started with tune, D/R's, 4.10's, stall converter, etc., then bought a Vortech V2 S-trim blower. Those mods all worked beautifully together, with the powerband pushed upwards.
