Hey guys how are yall doing, I have a 2006 Mustang GT with a JLT series 3 air intake, Howard’s Rattler Cams, Catless exhaust with an X pipe and a current trashy Bama tune on 93 octane, was planning on running E85 since it’s way cheaper than 93 where I’m at and I still get pretty bad mpg since the cams, are the 47Lb injectors enough for this and what gains should I expect?

You have to burn roughly 30% more e85 than gasoline to get the same power output so assuming you currently have the stock 24 lb./hr injectors, E85 would want 31.2 lb./hr. IIRC, the next commonly available step up from that is 36 lb./hr.
I wouldn't expect much for power gains on a NA motor with stock compression ratio.
Also, the ethanol content of E85 varies wildly. To get the full potential out of it requires an ethanol content sensor and ECU capable of making the necessary adjustments in the tune OR manually checking the ethanol content of every tank and having multiple tunes ready to flash.

I have an 05 with an Edelbrock SC.
I have an ethanol content sensor installed, and carry my SCT4 with me because of the difference in percentages of E85. I have seen 51%-85%. I’ve also found one station that stays at 70% year round. I carry tunes for lower than and up to 70%. Over 70%. And 93.
If you are determined to convert. Get in touch with Lito for the tune and for recommendations on which injectors, fuel pump, and maybe a Boost-A-Pump.
It’s definitely cheaper to run E85, compared to 93, if you have convenient source nearby. Although it won’t be as much as I save running 11 pounds of boost. You’ll probably see a small gain in performance.
Good Luck.

I have a gas station that serves E85 2 minutes away from my house but I don’t know the percentage of ethanol on this gas station but there are also plenty around me, I’ve talked to lito and he reccomend the 47Lb/hr injectors and a 340LPH fuel pump minimum and I’d have to carry a Ethanol tester so I could keep him posted for the revisions on the tune
