I've been watching a few GT500 videos that are doing 10s (one of them from Evo) and they are usually pushing a good 200+ HP more than what these 5.0s are doing. Does the extra weight (~300 lbs) of the GT500 really make THAT big of a difference?
Interesting... To me, 300lbs difference doesn't seem like it would be a huge detrimental effect(no more than 3-4 tenths) to track times. But when I factor in that most of that extra weight on the GT500 is over the front tires(attributed to iron block, supercharger, intercooler, and hydraulic power steering), which negatively effects weight distribution, it makes a little more sense.
I still don't see how a GT500 needs 200+ HP to match a modified 5.0's times though.
