Hey guys,
I installed a GT500 oil pan on my new motor and wanted to show everybody exactly where the windage tray needs to be clearanced in order to fit properly on the 4.6. It's very simple since the material is hard plastic. I used an angle grinder with a metal cutting disc but you can use a Dremel or even a hacksaw.

As you can see the front rib needs to be cut to clear the two bolts on the crank. This was the only modification I had to do in order to install this pan.

It comes with all new bolts and the pan is cast in such a way as to give you plenty of room for your ratchet and socket when installing it. There's cutout grooves which line up with each bolt hole and my ratchet fit perfectly without having to go crazy with swivels, etc.

This oil pan is part number M-6675-MSVT and is available through Ford Racing.

So the windage tray has the gasket molded into it. Nice cost savings idea from Ford.

What about the oil temperature sensor that is in the stock steel pan, does this pan have provision for it?

05-06 sensor only, would be easy to tap and install. Nice pan, I'd be all over it if I didn't have my moroso already.

Later 4.6s did not have the sensors

Im thinking about ditching the Moroso for the Shelby, its a easy swap with the BMR stuff.

Yes, with the BMR K member you just unbolt the steering rack and push it aside. Two bolts. No need to mess with motor mounts or jack up the engine.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but will the windage tray work with a stroker crank?

Yes it will. I used the same frpp kit on my build and it has a 3.75 stroke crank. Keep in mind that it's built for a 5.4 with a much longer stroke. 4.165" iirc.

If you use non 3v main cap bolts the mod won't be needed because only one of them has a stud sticking out and the tray is built for that stud.

This is from my Big Bore Boss block. It uses a main cap setup that is similar to the GT500 or Terminator blocks.

Can you take some pics of the side of the pan and the front of the pan up close? Trying to decide if there will be a good place for me to tap for a turbo drain.

Looks like Bruce has you covered. Here's a couple I just took while laying on the garage floor reaching in under the car.

right below the balancer just like my stock pan. and with this you can actually tap the hole properly due to the thickness.

I had an issue before with the drain like backing up. I have mine in the driver side front of the pan. Would placing it in the front of the pan help this or should I move it back some more so it doesnt back up going down a hill or braking hard?

Will this oil pan fit with the BMR k-member with the 1/2" engine drop and the BMR a-arm brace? I know the Canton oil pan won't fit with the a-arm brace, and with the 1/2" engine drop, space is limited between the oil pan and steering rack.

Yes, my BMR K member has the 1/2" drop engine mounts. I also have the brace which sits about an inch back from and slightly higher than the drain plug. It fits like it was made for it.
