If the finished product looks like the picture Darren posted up... I would drive it. It looks a lot better than the renderings I have seen. However, I am not a first year buyer. I got bit doing that twice before. I'll get a 16 or 17... you know... after they fix all the stuff the beta owners find wrong with it.

Since you sell cars in CA.

If I buy one from a dealership in CA will I have to pay your state's sales tax on the car? I would not be registering the car in CA. It would be purchased and driven back to MT where it would be registered.

You would have to pay the tax's in what ever state your registered it in. I purchased a truck in Alabama one time and didn't include the tax's there and for got about the tax's & Ga charged me the amount. a lot easier to have it included in the contract. a lot less headache.. trust me won't make the same mistake again..

If you drive it upon delivery, you have to pay the lowest tax offered in CA. If you set up an out of state delivery, you can avoid paying CA taxes. It just depends on where you have it delivered, you'd be better off shipping it all the way home to avoid the taxes.

If you get a bill of laying, you can have it taken out of the state on a flat bed and delivered to you to avoid sales tax.

You can also have the vehicle driven to the state border by an employee of the dealer with you in the vehicle, and once you cross the border, you take delivery and drive the rest of the way home.

Those are the only ways to avoid the CA sales tax. You must take delivery out of state.

^ that doesnt look like the EVOs which leaves me disappointed. It doesnt look too much different body shape wise (less the front) from the current model

That is what everyone has been saying about it though, it won't be this huge departure that everyone has been expecting or predicting it will be.

GHEY

Here you pay don't pay taxes at the dealership and they are ultimately assessed in the state in which it is registered.

Damn CA is a ripoff. I think AZ is like that also.

I'm guessing an easy 500$ to get it shipped or driven from Turlock to Reno for pickup. To hell with that. Guess I might have to buy from TX then.
