Definitely way better than a Dodge IMO!
But still a fat, flabby beast.
No official weight numbers yet, but feel free to speculate on "leaked" internet info
The difference is the new GT500 will blow a model 3 off of the road, will feel hooked up and planted. 4200 lb of road hugging weight.
our old S197's with the wagon axles and TR3650's will sit there blowing off the tires, get wasted. "fun."
I'll take my old wagon wheel axle S197 with TR3650 trans over a 4200lb land yacht Dodge any day lol.
A Tesla Model 3?
yeah, after the 1/8th
Ok. But they are not even the same class of car. If fact, the buyers are two very different kinds of customers. It's apples to oranges.
No way it curbs under 4,000, my guess is 4,200.
IMO I don't see Ford curbing it at either 4000 or 4200lbs. If the upcoming 2020 GT500 is expected to compete with the Hellcat/Demon? it's going to have to curb in at under 4000lbs in order to have any chance of topping the Dodge with it's smaller displaced 5.2L S/C 4 valve rated at 760HP
I don't see it curbing at more than 4000 either. The gt500 is basically a gt350 with a blower, and a heavier transmission. That's probably what an extra 300 lbs tops?
Perhaps up to possibly an extra 350 lbs tops, but no more than that
I'm anticipating a 1/4 mile run of 10.9 @ 133.
Randomly surfing and found this older article.. the GM rabid fanboyizm is hilarious in this one..
"The 2020 Shelby GT500, which is slower than a 5,300 lb Bentley SUV, goes on sale this summer."
Wow, what a petty article... Never understood why people care so much about top speeds anyways.
and the Camaro will die again in 2023...
apples, oranges, fenceposts and rubber boots. If you think tesla owners aren't dusting off decroded old "musclecar" owners at every opportunity, you are fooling yourself. They are winning by inches and miles.
That would only matter to people that care. Doesn't matter to me.
Right! If the car was so good more would be getting sold. It just got bumped to 3rd place by an "old chassis" Challenger. That platform is from 2008. The Camaro platform is from 2016.
Chevrolet should have brought back the 1970-73 Camaro styliing back. They've run the current into the ground.
