3rd gear??

We went to the track lastnight on the slicks hammer down balls to wall now 3rd gear seems like the bushing may be messed up or is it a syncro? it still goes to third just fine but i have to go into it slowly it is still the stock shifter as well.

another thing it does with the car at idle i can push it into 3rd without pushing the clutch in at all of course you know it goin to grind but it should not even get passed that point no other gear does it, any ideas i can try i would appreciate it guys thanks again

drove it again actually 3rd the shifter is going closer to the console making it seem like im having to push the shifter further up than normal idk ill see how my cousins looks later and compare

Lol I never had any problems with it till now car is 20k miles I think honestly the main problem with these mt82s is the cap shifter that comes equipped I hit 3rd gear this morn pretty hard but held the clutch in longer than I wud want to but it went in with no grind or anything.

also maybe a long shot i know i have a tune on it does it void warranty on everything or just the motor or are they goin to be like noope on your own. jw

they have to prove a tune caused the damage on the vehicle.

Yep^ just load the stock tune back in and the stock parts, i doubt they check for tunes for tranny work

thats what i was thinking im goin to give it a shot and see what happens if they dont oh well the price we pay to go fast!! i may just upgrade if they dont fix it. really all i have to lose is time and effort getting stock parts on her but may be worth it to just try i suppose.

i guess i better put stock shocks on to they may see the drag shocks on there be like wtf,

I killed my Mt-82 at the strip friday night. Launched at about 5k with Nittos on and it was all over with. If I cant get it replaced with warranty work then im going to do the Tremec conversion and give it a try.

sheet, mine lit up after 1500 miles of street driving, no provocation. Since Ford dealer rebuild, it's been down track over 100 times on slicks, with launches from 4.5 to 6k, no issues. The only post rebuild annoyance is a rattly TOB.

Dealership told me today that my Nittos were slicks.. and that it was abuse that caused the damage. I told them that I wanted it expedited to Ford and a direct number to Ford myself.. I love it that my Nittos were slicks, after I called the service manager useless he was a lil pissed.
