4:10 gear question

whats up guys so im going to have 4:10s put in wednesday by BBR and i was asked if i want to put the low profile rear end girdle for like 170 bucks or something extra. Its 570 for the gear installation and 7XX with the girdle. I dont have the extra money for the girdle right now, from dropping 1350 on BBR stage 1 Cams last week. My question is...Is the rear end girdle really needed? I was told it just "beefs" up the rear a little bit. Can I get the gears w/o this girdle and experience no future problems or is this a needed item?

Definitely not needed at your levels. Besides it's an easy upgrade that you could do in your driveway in the future if you choose.

i know man i cant wait i have 3:31's now and daily driving is a PITA some times because i cant cruise at 45 in 5th gear my RPM"s are too low. Plus with these baby gears my car is sluggish intill 2.5k. Just cant wait to get 4:10s but i was just making sure im doing everything right.

Wow, you have 3.31s...its gonna feel like you slapped a blower on there with the 4.10s then, lol. Yeah, those cams need at least 3.73s or higher. 4.10s will be perfect.

yeah...i couldnt even hook at the track the other night with the gear/cam combination on street tires my 60ft was horrible 2.2 spinning the whole 60 but i was trapping at 110. Going to get DR's next definitly

Well if you couldn't hook with 3.31's on street tires, don't get butt hurt when its worse with 4.10's.....LOL

296rwhp and 310rwtq with a shitty diablo tune UDP and steeda CAI. I now have SCT custom tune by Chris @ BBR, Steeda UDP, CAI, CMDP, Steeda axle backs, and UPR offraod x and BBR stage 1 cams. The car now pulls extremely hard. It now makes 337rwhp and 326rwtq
