Subscribing to see the outcome. Was planning on buying a Yellow GT but all of them are local, are mostly auto. Wish I had the cash when a full T56 conversion out of a Saleen popped up. Guy was doing an auto swap and it only had 30,000kms or less and he wanted $2,000.

Sounds good man, and I hope to really get working on it and get some long hours in soon. So busy though, it sucks..Sounds like a good deal!

Yeah, wish I would of had the cash, but it seems like he might of sold it now. I really hope to find a standard car, but the way it is going now, I might not find the one I want for the price range I have.

See people kept telling me to de mod and trade in my stang on a 5spd manual one. No way I'd ever want to do that, too much work and I have grown attached to my baby. I'm the original owner, and always will be.

A little update, when I started to get under the car to start removing exhaust and unbolting the drive shaft I came to a dead end. The exhaust shop I had locate a rattle shortly after the full exhaust years ago kind of screwed me. He welded my full exhaust together and I don't have a boat load of tools so I had to use a chisel and hammer to pound the shit out of the welds to break the pipes free..I don't know if anyone has ever tried that, but holy shit it took hours... One clamp came off and one was stuck on the pipe. So I had my dad take it to his shop when he went in for work. Now I have to just kind of smooth the pipes out a little bit so there are completely no welds left.

Looking for a 2 day period that works good for me and him so we can both be off and just knock this swap out.

Updated first page with some part numbers.

That sucks man, when I installed mine, I made sure there were no welds or anything else so I could easily remove or upgrade in the future. I hate when the small shops just do this kind of stuff without asking the owner of the car.

Yeah my shop that installed it didn't weld it, it was the local shop I took it to to find a rattle. Wish I never did that.. lol Oh well, It got taken care of so now I can move forward.

Going to work on it all Saturday.

Realized I did NOT have the two bolts that held the slave cylinder to the transmission. Called Ford and he gave me the part number. He said they charge $10 a bolt and not one dealer in FL have them stocked. So he told me go to Advanced Auto and pick them up. Got a 3 pack at Advanced for $2.66 after taxes lol..

Metric 6 1.0 x 20.5mm is the size bolt that is used. Made sure it fit correctly tonight, going to remove it and lock tite it when I work on it saturday.

UPDATE: Ford didn't do their job, and they WILL be hearing from my father and I.. When my car was in there and they said "Input shaft took out the tranny and it'll be $4000 to fix/replace" they obviously didn't do their homework. They probably figured they'd screw a kid out of a lot of money. The dumb tech must have just plugged in a scanner and got no codes and pulled the rest out of his ass.. Reason I say this is because I drained the automatic tranny yesterday and oil was clean as hell, not burnt, no metal shavings or anything wrong with it.. What I think happened with my car was that the transmission was extremely low on oil and it wouldn't allow the car to be put into a gear.. I measured the oil that came out of my auto and exactly ONLY 2 QUARTS CAME OUT. I am beginning to think the transmission isn't blown and that it was just low on fluid..... I want to rip them all a new asshole b/c this is the same local dealership that I originally bought a 07 Heat edition V6 from that when they delivered me the car it was not what I paid for and after a month or them trying to fix their problem I returned my new car and went elsewhere to find my current GT.
5 quart jug...

Back to progress though...

Anyhow, Went at it again today, man this is definitely not easy doing it at home on jackstands with not all the right tools lol.. Me and my father spent all day putting in work on my car..

Removed the three starter bolts and starter, used a pry bar to rotate everything and then removed the 4 torque converter bolts.. I unplugged all the plugs on the harness for the transmission. I removed all bell housing bolts (the two top ones were fucking crazy, the driver side one on top was by far the worst! Had my dad rig up a bunch of extensions on the socket, and push up while I laid on top of my strut tower brace and crammed my hand down behind the motor between wire harnesses and tubes.. I guided it onto the bolt and had to hold it in place as he tried to break it loose.

Unplugged all the things on the transmission, some of which you can't see.. I had to remove both exhaust shields and O2s at one point b/c they were just in the way.

Once all the bolts were out, we went to pry the transmission off of the motor and the driver side popped off no problem, however the passenger side must be stuck on a rusted dowel pin or something b/c the bitch won't break away from the motor.. Oh almost forgot, when I went to remove the transmission cooler and lines- had the biggest struggle with this.

Ok so Ford uses the typical spring loaded quick disconnect that are used on a/c lines or fuel lines, wrong. They must have a special tool only they sell b/c I made 4 trips to an auto parts store, spent over $40 trying all different sizes and none of them fit... Needless to say i wasted hours on this part and I got so pissed off I just cut off the hoses lol..

I spent all day working on the car and while I made progress, It was still very discouraging since I thought I would have achieved more in that time frame.. I stopped and went to bed lol.

Hoping that I may take a stab at it again today, but I have a lot of school stuff to worry about first.

At least you are not doing this Alone!

It reminds me getting under the car then out of the car so many times! My back still hurts a little. Lol.
Why just not removing those lines on transmission? Fortunately my trans went out easily without any pry bar, i just pushed backward when on trans jack and it came out.

Finished with mine, and i don't wanna mess with that anymore. Lol
Installation is the worst thing... But best of luck with that!

First time in is always the toughest. Good progress, you'll get it.
 I hope I never have to do a conversion on a car again.. I'll be paying someone I trust.. Its a great learning experience but yeah, there won't be a round two.. when i get around to a t56 or 6060, I may be paying someone to just get it done quick.

Yeah man, thankfully my dad is helping me even if he hates it hahaha.. Hell yeah, I'm only 25 and I wake up sore as fuck the next day.. It sucks. I removed them from the transmission but the other end on the cooler I never removed. Didn't want to take apart the whole nose of the car to get to it. I was trying to make more progress that day but there was no quick way to do it. The strap on the trans jack wasn't getting tight enough to hold the trans tight in place so I had my dad bring home a big strap from work to strap it down with while we pull hard on the trans. Don't want to push it hard off the motor and have it slip off the jack since its not 100% secure.

I dont remember having any issues with the lines on mine
Yeah, you took apart your whole front end to remove the cooler and lines right..? I was just trying to remove the lines and leave the cooler until I had more time to take everything apart lol. I guess half assing that part was NOT an option when I tried. The big man upstairs didn't let it happen. :lol2:

After probably 30-45 more minutes of taking a prybar to the trans, it finally broke free without any damage. The dowel pins were frozen/rusted beyond belief. One stayed in the bellhousing and one in the block. Going to have to retrieve the one from the transmission. Happy to have this step done lol.

The Bullitt shifter is a nice touch.

Yeah man, I love it! I'm glad I scored such a deal on the shift knob/boot/bezel and short throw shifter.. Originally I wanted to swap it out for a different knob/shift arm for that classic muscle look but I am going to keep it this way until I get bored of it and want a change. The knob I want is $81 and then I need the stupid boot retainer which is like another $20+ so yeah..
