I have an 07 FBO, cammed, nitrous 3v currently with the tr3650. I'm thinking of switching to a 6r80 but I have 4.56 gears. Has anyone personally ran a 6r80 with 4.56's? I spent a lot of time and money building the rear end( strange 35 spline axles, c-clip eliminator, spool) and don't want to change gears for the 4th time.

I know you were asking about experience with this transmission/rear axle combination, which I don't have, but I do have experience with the 6R80 in my 2014 GT. You may already be aware, but I will mention this just in case. The 6R80 first gear is 4.17 which would combine with the 4.56 for a 19.02 combination in 1st gear.
  • 1: 4.17 (19.02)
  • 2: 2.34 (10.67)
  • 3: 1.52 (6.93)
  • 4: 1.14 (5.20)
  • 5: 0.86 (3.92)
  • 6: 0.69 (3.15)
That seems somewhat high to me, but I can't claim any particular expertise.

These are the numbers for your current setup, I believe.
  • 1: 3.38 (15.41)
  • 2: 2.00 (9.12)
  • 3: 1.32 (6.02)
  • 4: 1.00 (4.56)
  • 5: 0.62 (2.83)

no direct experience here, however, based on the dozens of threads discussion rear gears in the 6r80s, way too steep of rear to use, guys found the most success (IIRC) with a 3.15 gear set in the rear and 6r80

Ahh , dont fear the gear, esp on an NA set up,,,also depends if you daily the car. Although you do need good sus/ shock/ tire / combination... the 6r80 NA, the right converter is everything...
