I took my 08 saleen with 9lbs, full exhaust ,4.10 gears and bmr lca to the track this week, and only got a 1.78 60ft and best was a 7.8 in the 1/8 mile. The mph was around 91mph. It's a 5spd and I was running the stock 20s with 275/40/20 nitto 555rs. I feel like it should be faster with that mph

You are right. Your 60' and ET aren't bad but with that 1/8 trap speed, your ET should be more like 7.5-7.6.
The Saleen is more nose heavy than a GT so you could try removing the front swaybar to aid weight transfer to the rear. You could also do some weight reduction in general, including lighter wheels. I'm sure others will chime in with further suggestions.

how are you leaving? dump/slip of the clutch?

how are yo warming the tires?

what pressures are the rear tires?

side note - a better tire would make a big difference.

I back up into the water and do a 2nd gear burnout. I slip the clutch around 3,000. I'm sure the car is like 3900lbs with me in it or more. The tires where at 18psi

    ok, good basics,

what MPH are you seeing when you do the burnout? how long of a burnout?

I'd go even higher on the rpm

have you tried to vary the pressure in the tire? 18 sounds reasonable, however, it may work better w/ 16 or 20, testing is required.

I can say with a 265/40/18 MT ET SRII I got my '06 vert, which was 3960 #, I was able to get 1.60-1.64 60', with the car lowered. The front sway bar was removed, stock shocks, dumping the clutch 4500-5000 rpm.

Just watch the one pass that starts where this vid picks up - copy and past - the embedding won't let it pick up where I want it to start.

That 60' isn't bad for what you have. Besides what has already been suggested, I would get a separate set of rims for the rear (probably 17" or even 15") and run a slick. Just change switch them out at the track.

I was thinking of launching higher but I still have the stock clutch lol. I think is time for a new one. I was wondering if the 4.10 gears where hurting me more then helping also

4.10's would help, then get a smaller rim and a taller tire. I run a 15" rim with a 28x10.5 slick

Wheels and tires. Don't matter what you have going on with the power if you can't get it to the ground.
