$700 and has the ability to log data from the OBD2 port as well as all the cool lap timing/predictive lap/acceleration data logging features from the regular SOLO.

Anyone used one of these? There isn't much information on what channels work on 2011+ cars, but the more the better.

I think that is what Fair has been running lately.

I went DL1 mostly because I could grow into it and it will be a very powerful tool for me. If I wasn't thinking bigger picture (shock velocity sensors, steering angle, yaw sensor, and maybe even brake pressure) I would have gone with the AIIM.

Most of the guys I track with use it, many are BMWCCA club racers. The lap predictor is pretty neat I think. You can kinda watch your times drop or jump based on how you get through certain turns. My brother used it for his car, was even able to find out hard he put his car into the wall based off the data :/ good and bad data I guess...

Care to share where you got it from? Also, are you using yours on a 05-10 car or 2011+? I'm interested to see what data channels work.

I bought the DL1 on ebay...used....for $401. I was a little nervous, but it works fine. I got the OBD cable for it through SPS.

I can't say what will be available with the obd cable on the aim system. Just looking at track maps, speed gradients, and lap overlays along with lat and long acceleration numbers will keep you busy for HOURS. It's a lot to take in.

***It occurs to me that you may think we are talking about the same thing. I am running the Race technology DL1, not the AIM Solo.***

ahh that clears things up. I understand the boatload of time that can be spent compiling data and merging with videos or diagrams. AIM has their own data analysis software that can be used. I think it's merging the data with video that will take time.

Here's a list of channels that the AIM Solo DL can receive from a Mustang (any copperhead?) ecu.

Taken from this website: http://www.jimmypribble.com/blog/2012/12/review-aim-solo-dl/

The above should be useful.

I never even thought about steering wheel angle through the obd cable. I will have to find out if I can grab that.

What I would like to see added to that list is oil pressure, water temp, and Intake temp. Fuel trim and ignition curve would be useful as well.

What you mentioned and oil temperature. I've felt some sort of soft power cut before I added an oil cooler and radiator, but I never physically saw anything light up on the dash. I wonder if "Fail safe cooling mode" would have perked up there.

I may bite the bullet but I'm still pouting over the $300 difference between the Solo DL and regular Solo.

The DL1 looks cool and totally unsuspective. Who would have thunk this little guy has GPS w/ datalogging?
