The passenger side air bag must be for the '05-10 cars. The other month I asked about my '11 and there is no recall for it. I also have a '11 Ranger and no recalls on it either.

This is a good list but still generic. That is why we get a million calls a day about them. The VIN number is the only way of verification for that specific vehicle.

According to the latest recall notification letter I received from Ford, it clearly states a warning to not allow anyone to occupy the passenger seat until remedy parts become available. Therefore I'll just follow the recall notification and wait for the passenger side replacement parts to arrive, hopefully by sometime this upcoming spring

I get a recall every couple of months for my 08, Ford has done the drivers side. Told by my stealership that none exist for passenger side air bag. I think Ford should step up to plate and and manufacture their own or find some one else to make them. They have have plenty of years to come up with a solution. Cheaper for them to pay out claims than to fix it. Hurting the value of our cars, they should offer some kind of assistance in money for diminished value. GM offered $1500 extra on trade for 73-87 trucks with outboard gas tanks rather than a recall. My neighbors 17 yo son was killed when drivers side gas tank exploded in a collision. He put up a sheet of plywood with a picture painted on it and describing the details blaming GM. To me these trucks were worse than the Pinto.

Sounds like the recall will eventually cover all areas of North America.
I sat on a flight with an engineer from one of the automakers affected by the Takata inflators and he told me that 9% of the inflators tested from Michigan were defective. He wouldn't tell me what percent were defective from the southern states.

I have been lazy to fix this issue. Don't want to waste my day at a dealership for items that should have been fixed before they were sold on the market. guess it helps that my car has been in the body shop since September.

Is the airbag resistance on a 2007 the same as the seat airbag? 2.2 ohms I believe. And are the connectors the same? I've had the passenger bag out, but not a seat bag.

And thanks to Photosuckit there's no pics.

I'm thinking of disconnecting the bag and installing a terminator.

Those of you that have had the pass side inflator replaced, can you post up the part number that was installed, listed on the receipt?

I have a local dealer that's supposedly ordered a part for my wife's '08 GT500 like 3 weeks ago, supposedly it's different than the other models, which I don't believe, and I'm getting sick of waiting.
Parts are now available, he has the inflators in stock, his parts dept is being stupid.

I was a Ford Service Writer for almost 10 years, I would've had the part by now, 3 weeks is just ridiculous.

My local dealer has been dicking me around with this recall for over a year. They will always "call me back".

Yeah, I think I'm done with this dude.
I'm pissed at this point. I used to love bringing in new customers for recalls, you just never know how good a customer can become after they get some free fixes to their cars under whatever recall you met them.
I may just contact the place I used to work at. It's almost an hour drive, but I have more faith that they'll do it.
Or the place the wife bought it at, a decent Ford dealer, a bit further away, but could be a nice ride back and forth, given the right weather, haha
