this is the reason a crew chat is GREAT, its informative and to help others into 1 thread at a time.

So why are you sticking to 11 to 1? you can go more on pump gas, with your cars weight and the short stroke on the 4.6, I'd say 12.0 to 1 will be fine on pump gas, for everyday driving, and run a mix of race fuel at the track, elevation plays a big part on effective compression ratio, here (2800 ft) we can get by with even more, another thing you might think about is oxygenated fuel, there are some good fuels out there that have proven to make more power then others, VP street Blaze 100 comes to mind,
personnally I want to have SD build me a high compression big bore stock stroke bottom end, I already have the top end to make one run ok,
I also like to stay away from really short skirt piston for street apps, they just wear the skirts to fast for me, Thoughts?

Thanks. I plan to use the FRPP 5.0 aluminum big bore block #M-6010-T50 (I'm also not sold on using a sleeved block for this application) with Clevite coated H series bearings; CP-Carrillo pistons, rings and stock length rods; Kellogg forged crank; FRPP high performance oil pump; ARP fasteners; custom cam grinds; VCT Lockouts; Comp Cams springs; RGR Stage 2 heads, and achieve a 11.5:1 CR using 93 gas with the goal of a high and flat torque curve. I'm using 3.55 gears. These are my initial thoughts. I'm looking forward to following this thread!
Just make sure to swap the gears for billet oil pump gears.

I will send my kooks long tubes to be cut (flange) and re weld the 4 valve flange on it
Don't bother. If you're going to seriously go after something like this you'll want a stepped header anyway. Sell the Kooks and have a set of double steps built by ARH. Nice merge collector and an x-pipe....

Would you have to change the Pistons to go with the 4v heads?
Depends on the camshaft lift/duration.

How about jesel hardware in them 4v heads.. Or is there any roller hardware you can put in them?

And on the jesel topic has anyone actually tried that shit in there 3v heads and seen gains? Doesn't jesel claim like 30hp due to less rotating friction?
Not sure if JPC has tried them on the RGR engines or not. Haven't heard.

what about GRP aluminum rods?
Fuck that. Modulars don't like aluminum rods.

this is the reason a crew chat is GREAT, its informative and to help others into 1 thread at a time.
As long as the people in the chat know what the hell they're talking about.

Depends on the piston design.

lol, looks like i started the crews, there is an all motor one now, and then yours, lol

i would ask for a number but i think that would clash with my other crew....:chairfall:

Surf the Mustang forums; there is a freaking crew for everything. ;) I think I saw a Spoiler delete crew on one of the forums the other day. :dead2:

Where does your car peak on the dyno, and are you guys making power up at these elevated rpms or are you just occasionally running high rpm.

peaked @6400-6500 IIRC. but we revved it out to 6700 and it didnt drop much. i shift it at 6700-6800. seems to work pretty good.

Sadly I feel like I just don't fit in... It's not like I use nitrous all the time. I am trying to build my engine up for na power first. Nitrous is kinda like icing on the cake. I don't even fit in with the power adder crew... Well I guess it's the anti crew crew for me... Haha
