Have a tune and my tuner has the shift points at 7500 rpm's with stock intake. Has anyone else with an auto had their rpm's set this high? Ran a 11.87 @ 118 with just tune and DR's. is the rpm's hurting my times?

A lot of people are spinning the 5.0's that high with no problems. Who's tune and what was the D/A for your 11.87 run? Your car is flying for just a tune and a tire...

Brookspeed tune. Not sure of DA but it was in the fall temps in the 50's.

Well he is one of the best tuners out there and knows what he is doing. I probably wouldn't spin it that high every day all day but with that being said I'd say you will be just fine. :thumb:

That's not too out of line. I've gotten the best results around 7300.

Thanks. I just have seen most shifting at 7000-7100 and some saying power drops off after 6600 rpm's. the tune is very smooth and pulls very hard.

Dont fear the rpm... I shift my 3v at 7200 rpms, Im sure the 5.0 can take 7600 all day. LOL

If I was in a 5.0, I would spin to 8k at the track.

Isn't the power band the same after 6k? What's the point of taking it so high? Talking about a 3v

More boost and HP and more power at a higher rpm after the shift. After 1st gear, the rpms never fall below 5300 rpms. I have a 4r70w also.
