I finished installing my BBK LT headers. They went in pretty easy and my hands only suffered a few small scratches. This morning I went to go install the shorty x pipe and it doesn't fit in anyway possible. The flanges don't cup they are the same diameter. The pipes don't quite line up either. My BMR driveshaft loop also won't fit because the O2 sensors are in the way.

I called BBK and found out they made a revision to the headers and x pipe. I apparently have the newer style header and the older style x pipe. You can identify the newer version headers because the flange is free moving and not welded on. The older x pipe cup flange is 3" in diameter and the new one is 3.5".

As for the driveshaft loop, I'm just going to plug the bungs. Does anyone know if the rear O2 sensors even need to be plugged in? Or will if have to plug them in and zap strap them out of the way. The x pipe is an o/r pipe and I have an updated tune so they should be shut off.

Mods if this isn't considered tech please move it. I just thought it might help someone who gets in the same situation as me.

won't it throw a code if you don't plug it in tho ?

I guess if it did you could turn it off with the tuner.

I just plugged them in and zap strapped them out of the way. The x pipe still hits the driveshaft loop. I'm not sure if I will grind the loop a bit or see if there's enough room to cut it down where it mounts and move it further from the x pipe.

Also thought I would mention BBK offered to overnight me a kit they offer that has the proper diameter flange and clamps to modify the older version.

your going to throw a P1000 code which can be turned off in the tune and so can the rear 02's or just weld in new bungs and move them my question is why is the x-pipe hitting the drive shaft loop I have all this in mine and everything clears just fine

Maybe on account of your headers and X are either both the old design or both are the new design? OP apparently got one of each.

I'm pretty sure the tune I got from Bamachips shut them off. I might weld in new bungs and relocate them later. It's the least of my worries right now. I busted my ass to get my car ready to race on the weekend, 5,000 rpm launches with slicks on a nicely prepped track = clutch welded to the fly wheel. Time to upgrade the stock clutch. I'm gonna park my mustang for the winter and get myself another daily driver.
