I have a jpc ss clutch line as well.
Check and make sure your SS line is not seeping. Mine was and caused me 2 clutches till I noticed it after the the Exedy install. Back to OEM and fine. The issue wasn't the O-ring rather it appears the AN fitting machining is off a few degrees and deeper.

Well I called ram today to order the shims/spacers that was linked in this thread and they said those spacers would only work with their slave. So I told them what I had and what my car was doing and they said this would work with a stock slave. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RAM-598/
They said in their clutch "kits" they provided that ^ spacer to put xxxx amount of load on the slave bearing. So lets see how this works. Fingers crossed.

I am upset with the fact that Mcleod doesn't give you any information on the use of a shim with their flywheel with their clutch. Straight up bull shit as much money as these twin disks clutch setups cost..

isnt everyone just assuming at this point that the spacer is the issue? ill wait till someone does one and gets it to work.

What else could it be at this point.

it could have just been too much air in the slave when it was installed....i dunno, just seems like everyone is running out and getting spacers now....lots of these same set ups with no spacers....if the spacers go in and there are no issues then ill jump on the band wagon too!

That would be lightning striking 3 times with 2 different setups.

After examining the rst clutch design and pressure plate fingers compared to oem gt500 clutch it makes alot of sense now.

Fingers are flusher and overall straighter than the rst. It also appears the overall clutch is tad thicker. If you still have the oem gt500 clutch paul you could do some measurements/comparision to the rst.

Has anyone bothered to call a shop that has most likely done quite a few of these swaps?

We will be measuring everything according to the Ram OEM setup guide that was referenced previously. I'm running the Stock 5 speed with an RST/Exedy steel flywheel. Car was shifting good with the spec 2+ clutch, it just made a bad noise with each down shift. So Iwent with RST to get rid of the noise (success on one front) but now the car is hanging in second gear occassionally. I also have a steel spec flywheel to measure against the Exedy flywheel. I bought the spacer as insurance in case we need it.

As sure as I don't drop over dead I'll be putting one in Sunday. Also to one eyed willy, I know for a fact there wasn't any air in my first Mcleod setup, because I never removed my factory slave. I left the tranny in the car and slave hooked up so it was just the way it came from ford with 8xxx miles on the clock. I went to all the requirments to get air out of my system this go around. Vaccum, set a couple of nights, pumped the clutch while jack up on driver side. Yet the car still act the same as before....The RST told the tell when I looked at it. You could clearly see that something wasn't right. I just thought it might have been a faulty slave but nope, here we are, new RXT, new from ford slave, and the SAME EXACT symtopms as before. (yes I know my spelling sucks). I hope that all of this documented defeat saves someone out there this experence. My 2cents.

Enlighten us with shops that most likely have done a few of the swaps...and even if shops have done "a few of the swaps" parts change all the time that people don't know about until they start the process.

Ok so I over nited my spacer from Ram to here and this is what I got. It looks to me like this is going to be perfect. Thanks Ram. Jermey I would highly suggest you to wait and let me put this in. Maybe it will save you some money on labor. All this has costed me was UPS +14.99 and my sweat. And well a few cuss words. LOL Im going to go start the process. Hopefully I can get xpipe, starter, torque limiter and driveshaft removed tonight.
