Dyno Data wanted: Long/Mid-tube Headers on a Blown 3V

I've been scouring the internet and this site looking for before/after dynos of a blown 3V with long/mid length headers, anybody have data?

Ideally looking for power/torque with the stock manifolds, then with headers added on the same size pulley.

I've read some conflicting data on the topic - some claim almost no gains. I found one article in MM&FF where they picked up 10 whp with BBK longtubes on a M90 blown 3V @ 8 psi. Pretty pitiful considering the expense of the headers themselves and the PITA factor of the install.

Also, I don't care about looks or sound, only power is going to persuade me to fork over the dough.

friend of mine added LT's and o/r x pipe to his whippled terminator, same pulley and no retune.
he gained 10 rwhp and dropped 3 psi, went from 17 to 14.
although it didn't gain much hp, it did get more efficient.


the long tale article in 5.0 magazine they did pick up 30+ rwhp, but i believe they swapped pulleys and retuned to match the previous boost psi level.

If you don't care about the added sound of longtubes then don't do them. If you want more power run the 11 psi pully & tune with your whipple.
