We are going to develope a method to poll interest as well as where the pockets of people are. Every effort is being made to make sure it is central to the drivers and a great running track.

I would still go with Cecil or MIR. Both are fast, both are centrally located for the majority of people interested in the shooout. It should really come down to who is seriously going to attend. If you have 20 racers in PA, MD, VA and 2 in the carolinas going all the way to the Rock doesn't make much sense.

True, MIR and Cecil are some of the fastest tracks around great prep and fantastic Air... with MIR at 87' above sea level you find negative DA's all the time spring and fall. Cecil is at 325' ASL but it's situated in a location that has low humidity.
VMP is also a Nice Track, 170' ASL, good track prep.
Thats how us east coast guys can run nice times N/A, Low DA

Good Idea, lets see where we can garner the largest group of people... I mean I would love it in my Backyard but only 10 people might come, we should choose the
fastest track in a specific area (ie, NC, VA, NJ, MD, SC, PA, DE) and the most votes for the state we then try for the best track in that state? provided we can get an event
setup at one in a spring or fall time frame. We are not going to please all of the people, all of the time. lets choose the best site that please most of the people some of the time..... LOL Love it...

Hey guys. Just wanted to give you all a heads up and revive this thread.

We are getting very close to finalizing a date, track and classes. We are going to have a committee meeting this Saturday to make the final selections on most of this stuff. Keep an eye on this tread if you are interested.

Hey everyone, just a quick heads-up... The Street Jam Racing Series “2009 East Coast S197 Shootout” host by Five Guys Racing is just 3 weeks away!

If you haven't registered yet, check out the registration thread listed below.

http://www.s197-mustang.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4

If you would like to pre-pay as well, this will help you save a few dollars and get you all of your paperwork prior to the event. You can pre-pay at the link below.

http://www.s197-mustang.com/registration.htm

We are really excited! This event will be incredible. Between our awesome sponsors, Mustang Enthusiast Magazine, and our friends at 1320 photography, we are going to have the track all day and have a lot of fun.

Don't forget, this is going to be the ONLY event we have that is non-points based. Keep an eye on our site after this event and through the winter months, as we will be announcing or event line-up for next year to include the venues, the points system, series registration information, and the all important Heads-up Racing Classes and rules.

Unlike 2009, all 2010 events will be based on vehicle modification classes and true, full blown, first guy across the line wins, heads-up racing. However, something that will not change is our dedication to you, the people and the cars. This series will continue to be operated at a zero profit margin and focus on "Street Driven" cars for the average Joe.

We are doing this for you, and we can't do it without you. So, check us out on-line, and see you November 1st at Rockingham Dragway!

We are going to be at Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham, NC. We don't have any more events scheduled in VA till next year.

I originally wanted to fly up there and watch the Rockingham Shootout, but I'm probably going to SEMA, so as of now, it is very unlikely that I will show up.

I mapquested rockingham earlier and it's only about 3 1/2hrs away, that isn't bad compared to the 16 it took to get out here for my job lol.
