Ford 9" build

I have all my parts i need to get and figured that since i about demolished the 8.8" and needed a housing anyway why not spend the extra money and make it bullet proof...so here is what will be ordered

Currie Ford 9" housing CE-7015
Currie 31 spline forged alloy axle kit CE-7015A
Currie Caliper brackets CE-7015B-C

Im going to get my 3rd member built and shipped by Randys Ring and Pinion with a Detroit Tru Trac and my 4.56's (as i had before)

the only question i have now is that to anyone that has done this will my one piece aluminum driveshaft be the correct length for the 9inch?

When i did mine Currie 9" housing & Moser centre section i did not have to alter my 1pc alum driveshaft.I did go with 1350 u-joint as well.I went with 35 spline axles for future HP upgrade.
You will like the Currie housing,it is actually lighter than the 8.8 & the brackets are spot on the mark for the control arms,shocks etc.

I was happy with the Currie rearend also.

I went with the 1350 yoke also, and the aluminum center, 35 spline axles. It just depends on what your future goals are, 33 spline may be plenty. I opted for the spool as well, you may want the locker instead.

and an important note

If you think you are going to go with some drag race brakes for the back in the future, you will NOT need the Currie caliper brackets---you will need to take them off and use the caliper brackets that come with the drag race brake kit anyway.

How much was that if I may ask? The Currie stuff. Are you going to add a back brace to the housing? Seems like it would be chap insurance.

Paul, I thought our cars were a few hundred pounds over what they rated the aluminum chunk for?

Yeah, the 9+ case is iron, I was referring to that red "thingy" that you can see in the second and third pictures.

799 for the housing, 500 for the axle kit, and 80 for the caliper brackets

Doesn't Currie recommend using their upper control arm with this rearend? I think I remember reading about some people having problems bending other brand uppers.

well i got the axle out today didn't take too long...

all my 9 inch parts come in this week hopefully wednesday along with another set of bmr LCA relocation brackets that ill weld on before i put her in...

HUH??? IT's on the drivers side of the removeable carrier. I assume you've never worked with a 9"? I'm an old fart...grew up on 8"/9" rears in all my Fords....lol
