I love that too. And the transaxle, and the tube frame, and the rear suspension, and the front suspension... lol If only the everyday street car mustang had that much cool shit on it. It'd probably cost 250k like this one did.

I'm trying to figure out what the hell I'm looking at in the next to last pic of post 119. Is that the rear suspension? Kind of a disorienting pic. I have seen Vaughn Gittin's RTR and I think it had something similar in the back. I'm 100% certain that I'm not 100% certain.

JR's mustang has a rear cantilever shocks on it in addition to its standard coils. it basically acts the same as the brandon davis mustang just in different positions

That is a sequential transaxle full IRS rear end (big $$$$$$). The dampers are actuated by pushrods so they can be relocated.

Vaughn's car has a standard rear end but they laid the dampers down in back and they are actuated by pushrods. Doing the dampers like that is pretty easy, there is just no point on the standard car because you don't need the clearance moving them gives you, it adds weight (pushrods, bell cranks, mounting brackets), and the weight is up higher which is not ideal.

Looks cool though

lol In those pictures it was set up for unlimited time attack. Which if you ever look at those cars, this mustang is pretty conservative. ha

I thought a pushrod actuated suspension was about being able to easily adjust the motion ratio through the bell crank and add finer control over small suspension movements.

You are correct that can be done too, but anything short of a full blown race team that has a HUGE data system wouldn't even know where to start "tuning" one. But for the most part pushrod style suspensions are done because of packaging.

When I was doing motorcycle roadrace stuff we had a "bellcrank" (we call them shock rockers) to play with. But almost no one ever did, including everything up to the factory teams.

I did some custom ones for the Ducati's when I was racing them (I sold them to other people too) but I pretty much copied what the World Superbike Factory Ducati team was running. I could never have done enough testing to come up with specs all my own.

Agreed! I think my favorite part about that car though is the deletion of the rocker panels. It makes the car so much sleeker!

Part of the winter plan (that kicked off the day before yesterday) is to do something kinda like that on the blue car. It helps keep air from getting under the car. That should help when trying to go 225mph.

Nice! Keep us posted on your developments. I'd like to do that to my car too. The biggest reason Im running the flat black rockers is because it makes the rest of the car look skinny and highlights the important lines on the car. I imagine thats why Ford designers went that way on the GT500 and 2010-12 cars.

That gives me an idea! I think it's time to skin the whole bottom of the FR and add a diffuser in the back!! Along with that bad ass ram air with the NACA duct!!

Right there with ya buddy! If I was still n/a Id totally go for something like that. Hell, maybe I could do something like that for the blower intake too. Hmm... lol For now, I plan to add ducting and run it up to a sealed airbox
