I was think.of using the.old.signal housing as the basis for a duct that ill put in when i go to the track. Or i could be permanent and i could put a marker light in the headlights like the new cars.

I was going to build a duct that attached to the “car” that matched up with the back side of the bumper cover/turn signal hole. So when you pull the bumper cover you have the “ram air duct” permanently affixed and solid. That's how most of the bodywork fits the sportbikes with ram air.:thumb2:

We have had a cold snap here so I haven't been able to put the carbon on but it is supposed to warm up by Tuesday so hopefully I can get it done then!

Any update?

By the way congrats on the coilovers you picked up. Time for you to start a build thread so we don't clutter up this thread anymore haha

I know!! My bike didn't bring as much as I had hoped sooo I was only able to buy the Whiteline Watts link for now but I am going to put the entire Whiteline suspension along with the Coil overs and full under car chassis bracing. Im hoping that it will handle like a go cart after I get done! Big thanks to jayman33! He is giving me a great deal on the suspension pieces I need!! I am shooting for late Feb to early March to put her together.

BC Adjustable. I got them on here from whtcanbrwnd04u. Great guy! I know some think they are on the cheaper side but they give me full rebound and compression with separate ride height to corner weight the car. My suspension guy that did all my bike stuff for years said he will re valve and re spring them for me for free. Hes a great guy also! He went with me to the Isle Of Mann TT for free just to get to go! He does all sorts of bikes and cars! Last time I was at his shop n Texas he was working on a Porsche GT3 Cup car and had a couple AMA bikes their also.

Damn your doing some nice work. Subd

Im trying! My friends call me "Caption Unnecessary"! Oh well, when I do something I do it right the first time that way I only need to tweak not total rebuild! I am going to document everything and do a separate build thread in Corner Carving.

Well I'm now talking to Sam Strano and I may have jumped the gun. Jim Cambora of Raceworx is the guy I have worked with for years that has done cars and bikes. He has done all of my bikes! I went to the Isle back in 2007.

I broke down and bought some AST 4150s and a whiteline front sway. The ASTs were just to enticing. lol The new ones are lighter, have a better sway end link mount, are upgrade-able to doubles, have new seals, pistons, top guides. Shit, it might as well be an all new coil-over.

Plus the Grand Am Boss 302s run AST 5xxx series and I follow those races closely. If its good enough for Jack Roush Jr. #61 to race and win on, they're obviously more than good enough for me.

I had contemplated the Eibach R2s, but what it came down to for me was a final solution. The Eibach's would be good for what I use the car for now: DD and track day car. But will they be good enough when I start time trials or eventually move into some wheel to wheel stuff. The ASTs look to be future proof for me.

So far, I've been completely satisfied with my purchase through Vorshlag even though I haven't received them yet. They people I've talked to are friendly and knowledgeable and I know without a doubt that their customer service and expertise will be 100% reliable should I run into any issues in the future. I've been reading his blog for a long time; much longer than when it was on this forum. Terry's write-ups are without question some of the most informative and entertaining pieces I read on these cars as far as suspension. I can appreciate that he uses the stuff he sells and does pretty well with his car and the way its set up. Once I placed my order they actually went and quality control checked everything and put it together before packaging it up, something I'm sure a big company wouldn't do. I also had Matt call me because he forgot to mention something to me the day before and all the while both he and Jason called me by my name. I already felt like I knew these guys and I hadn't spent more than an hour and a half on the phone with them. So I think more than anything: their fancy pictures, write-ups, etc, their customer service really impressed me.

I should be receiving everything next week and I'll post my impressions here for you guys if you'd like me to, or I'll make a new thread. Should be a gigantic step up from my twin tube, compression adjustable D-specs with too soft BMR springs. I think I should be quite happy with 450/175 springs and a monotube nitrogen filled quality dampner. I won't be able to truly offer any indication of their performance till I go back to the track in February but I think I should see a pretty drastic step up even on the street. Who knows, the car might even ride BETTER.

We'll see! ;) My purchase was enabled by a forum member buying my old transmission and stuff. I told myself I better spend it on the coilovers before I find something else to spend the money on. lol I think I'll be rather pleased.
