I am interested to see what kind of power these FRPP short blocks can handle.. After my last nightmare and having to pull my car out of the shop after it sat for 8 months and I was feed nothing but BS excuses I am going to go the same route.. FRPP 3v SB and the FRPP CNC Heads, Hot rod cams, FRPP intake and TB and LTs for now, plan to whipple it next year.

yea man.

oh by the way. i have to post new pics. the crack in my block wasnt a crack. i touched it and a 2" x 3" chunk fell out of the block. lmao! looks like a connecting rod made a body print in my cylender wall. so much for reusing the block on another project...

hey i got a question, Is it necessary to change the main studs to arp? I mean, I know thats a hard question to answer...but if ford built these motors to hold this kind of power, why would they assemble it with mains that cant take it?

You're going to get varying opinions on this question. I personally don't feel ARP main bolts are needed if you're staying under 7000 rpm, and 700 hp. These 6 bolt mains are VERY strong even with production bolts. "Some" claim factory bolts can lead to oil pump breakage, but that doesn't seem to hold water as the oil pumps can still fail with ARP's.

So with your setup, I suggest sticking with a new set of factory bolts. Unless you've got $300 to spend on ARP's.

Are those acorns on your engine? My god, where have you been storing it?
lol.

yea no sale on getting it done yet. I know im slow. But im just enjoying hangin out in the garage and doin it slow.

The acorns - yea it was outside at my parents for a year before i got it in the garage to start the work. So critters made a home in there. hopefully i dont find anything chewed up...havent yet. The best part is my friend came over one night and wanted to see under the valve covers. I hastily pulled them off and guess where all the acorns went? FAIL.

Also, when i got the intake manifold off, there was a mouse nest under it in the valley there. Awesome.

Also ordered a livernois crank scraper and a pair of oil pan gaskets. woot. We are on our way!
