Really?

13.3s aren't slower than any stock 2Vs I've run. I don't even downshift into 3rd at highway speeds to walk them. FWIW Germ and all the LSX loving crowd out there, generally speaking it is easier to make a fast street motor out of a larger displacement motor since they don't have to rev. as high. Makes for more relaxed cruising. However, ultimate HP will always belong to the engine that can flow more air and have a built engine to handle the necessary revs. to consume all that air or the ubiquitous power adder. That is why John Mihovetz has the bad to bone ride that he does: Money+Engine Potential+Development=Quickest Car.

Bob Glidden used to run all over the Chevy boys in his 351C powered Pinto by revving it to 10,000rpm. The key was the canted valve heads(and a pretty stout block). Now guys just use turbos to force all that air and fuel through those hungry cylinder heads instead of revving it to 9 grand. SlowA$$, don't be a dumbA$$. Any intelligent engine builder knows more head flow equals more power(or at least the potential to build power). Getting that power reliably is a function of multiple users and time tested components. The 3V has had relatively little development from the serious racing crowd, yet the potential to squash the 2V is there. It just takes determination, know-how, and money to get there. I think the video proves my point.

I don't care anything about what a stock car does. I don't get why you people don't understand that on this forum. That vid shows a couple of mid 8 second cars. And?

Pardon me but can you explain to me why exactly the 2v is better than the 3v?

:thanks1: :)

Because they are faster.

I try to be objective with you, but do you think one guy who pushes a 4V to its limits mean that the 4V is better than a BBF or BBC? Maybe you don't know this but the fastest cars on planet earth are big cube V8. This debate was never between 4V and LSx and the BBF and the BBC.

Read the post Germ and then explain your irrational response. Where did I say the 4V is better than a BBF or BBC? We are talking about the current crop of engines and their potential. Just because more people make power with a certain motor does not make it inherently better. It just means it is probably the path of least resistance (a common path often walked by most). Usually, it means less money and/or thought is needed to achieve a particular HP goal. Again, that does not mean that motor is inherently better, just easier to work with. The 3V has great potential, but too few people have trodden this path to show what they are ultimately capable of. BTW back in the early 1980s Buddy Ingersol ran a Buick with a bored/stroked 231 cube motor that was turbocharged and killing the rest of the Pro Stock competition by .1 to .2 seconds. The rules were changed to end his domination. Just sayin.

Not too many people want a 800lbs. dressed out motor over their front wheels. You of all people here should know that.

Provide some proof, since I gave you my proof that the above statement is incorrect.

I don't know where you have been but all of the REAL fast cars run big blocks. Of course, you run 13.30's so you probably have no idea what fast is.....

2V>3V, not sure what is so hard to understand about this.

We are talking about drag racing not road racing here, if we were talking about road racing engines I wold say LSx > 4V. But the simple fact is no matter how you slice it LSx, 2V,3V, and 4V are maxed out hp wise around the hp level it takes to turn the blower on a Top Fuel car.

Think bigger, don't think 8's or 7's or 200 mph traps. Think fastest cars on planet earth , think 8000 hp , think 330 plus mph trap speeds. So quit thinking like a ricer and thinking that displacement does not matter anymore. The 5.0 is not close to the best engine that Ford makes. The BBF has already made twice as much as the 5.0 will make with FI, and made it N/A.

So yes the big cube BBF, BBC, and BBD Hemi Top Fuel motors are better than any 2V, 3V,4V, and LSx. Because at this point, none of them are capable of truly big power at this point. There is nothing magical about a small cube motor having to turn big rpm to take advantage of the airflow that a BBF would ingest and turn into a much more useable powerband and in a motor that would last all season no problem.

3V>2V, why are you having trouble grasping this? Still taking your 2nd year of Algebra? Or do you spend too much time fantasizing about other people's moms?

I've also run 10.5s at 140. I'd guess that's faster than you've ever gone in your life so it would seem I know a little more about going fast than you. John Mihovetz seems to know how to make a really fast car with a small 4.6 without nitromethane. But, I guess 6.25 isn't fast?

I didn't know you wanted to run your car with nitromethane. Why didn't you say so? You conveniently danced around my point with Buddy Ingersol. Care to address that? BTW, the small really high HP engines are well into the 6 second zone now. I also pointed out that I did not state these smaller engines were better than a BBF or BBC. You must like to hear yourself typing on the keyboard.

Algebra has nothing to do with the fact that a 2v is a better platform than your 3v.

10.50's aren't impressive.

Are you talking about John Mihovetz's 4v lol?

Wait, 10.5x at 140???? What were you in a Supra? Lol

*edit* Nevermind, I see in your sig that you prefer to take pride in trap speed. Carry on ricer:dunce:

I'm sure he knows how to be fast. Anyone can throw money at a car and get a high trap. It takes talent, knowledge, and experience to be quick(low e.t)

I assumed a motorcycle, but you might be right. :roflmao:

GSRX-1000, wheelies through 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear and didn't feel like strapping in. 1st time out the track sent me home and told me to get full leathers for anything over 120mph.

Wasn't trying to be impressive, just pointing out that I've gone faster than you. If you think a 2V is a better platform for going fast you don't know jack about engine development. If every one just did what the guy before them did cars would never go faster.

A true engine builder takes a solid platform a tries different things to get a desired result. Maximum achievable HP is based largely on cylinder head flow and a 3V inherently flows better than a 2V. Only difference now is the 2V actually has an aftermarket head where the 3V does not.

Cool, I have one of those sitting in my living room. However, it runs 9's with a 25 shot, stock length s/a, and dot track tires.

It has been said before, maybe you should lrn2dryv

Be careful about busting on my racing skills because I haven't had anyone here match me in a stock 2010 Mustang. I also rarely lost to other stock bikes on that one.

What year model? Mine was a 2002. Also, did you run straps? How about a pipe or gears? Mine was stock height and length with no straps or pipes or gears. Completely stock as showroom. A 25 shot is a 17% bump in HP for my bike so that is pretty significant if you have a 140HP to the rear wheel. To the car guys, it might sound like much, but 25HP on a bike is like having a 75HP shot in my 3V. Nice try.

lolwat?

You bragged about being fast running 13's in a mustang and mid 10's on a 1000. As a smart man once said, you proved yourself slow.

Can I get a real answer not some bullshit answer that you pulled out of your ass. I am trying to learn here and would like a honest answer.

I didn't pull that out of my ass. Ford 2v's are capable of making much more power than 3v's. More power placed in a lighter chassis will always have the capability to be faster.
