FRPP intake manifold...is this normal?

Just received a voicemail from FRPP; the company line is that this is "normal" and called "tincanning". They said that the 2000 Cobra R manifold did it too. I still don't like it.

I Googled the term "tincanning" and found one definition, "A slight buckling in sheet metal, causing a wavy or uneven appearance." Yup, sounds normal to me. I mean, who wouldn't want their intake manifold to do that?? I want my fuel injectors to pivot and move too while drag racing or road racing. Seriously, WTF?

The small amount of movement in the injectors is at the bottom, not the top. You guys are getting your panties in a bunch over nothing.

Can you please explain to me how the bottom of an injector can move if the top does not? My point is that logic would dictate that a tubular solid mass [injector] when being moved at the top [by the flexing] will move at the bottom as well and the middle for that matter.
In the OPs vid the whole fuel rail is moving outward and inward at least 1/8 of an inch. Ford can call it whatever they want to ..tincanning,balloning,swelling,restperation .I call it not mine at this point.

Really raises concerns for me, I looking into adding a FRPP manifold here soon when I do my gears. I might be better off going C&L.....maybe. I havent heard any complaints as far as performance, and for the price its hard to beat.

I always liked the look of the C&L but the weight of it and it possibly holding heat always put me off it.

Because the injector moves with the fuel rail. There is no movement between the top of the injector and the fuel rail. As the rail moves the injector moves with it pivoting at the bottom. Does that make sense?

I understand that but the whole fuel rail is moving hence the top of the injector is moving with it. Just went out and started my car [stock intake] had my son rev the piss out of it there was zero fuel rail / injector movement. Woke up the dogs and pissed off the neighbors.

I remember old threads that the CL power gains vanished once it heated up. I believe that was with the redesigned one, and the first version just straight up sucked. still, I guess it would work out with boost. It's been a while since I researched this though. Do they actually make power now, maybe with boost?

whats the steps? do I put oil on those green gasket rings? I have deletes in the tune so I should not throw any codes... but it is confirmed that I can drive with this safely without tuning for it(under 5k)??

Nope. Didn't happen on the three different combos we tested it on. Depends on how good your tuner is.

I will say this much, you gotta give credit where credit is due and SD(US-1) called this from the "get-go". He said there would be issues with a plastic intake from the initial release of the plastic lung.
