gear question please

hi, well i have a set of 4:10 gears for my 05 gt . the question for you all is this should i get the stuff to change them from the dealer or get them from summit or jegs. please if you don't mind tell me what you all have done so i don't put something in there that is going to be weak? thanks for your time. mike

When you say "stuff", are you referring all the shit you get in the installation kits? If so, I would just buy them from Summit. The stealership will probably cost you an arm and a leg.

sorry what i mean is the oil and bearings. kit to do the job. as for me doing them there is no chance i would i know to many people do them themselves and had to buy another set. i just want to know which is the best way to go i can get the oiland bearings for around a $100 from a dealership. so it doesn't matter which i just want whats best and strongest. thanks again also to make the rear end to make it buillet proof ? thanks mike

Where did you get the gears from? They don't have what you need?

My advice has always been take it to a shop that specializes in rear ends, and let them provide ALL the parts, supplies and labor. That way if something is screwed up, it's on them to fix it. They can't blame anyone else. Sure it might cost a few bucks more that way, but its still a lot less than having them redone.

I would agree completly..............and count yourself lucky to have such a shop in your area. I wish I did.
