Just heard from my installer that is putting in the Saleen Supercharger I bought of off here last year. Apparently the bypass valve was removed which confused him as to why it was out and the shaft that runs through the blower for the bypass is seized. It also it has gouge marks on it that look like someone tried to use vice grips on it. Also was told it was a complete kit but have had to buy extra hoses as well and try and locate misc parts to relocate the alternator. Guess I learned the hard way by loosing a few thousand dollars buying someone elses used junk(could have bought a new KB and had it installed and done a long time ago for close to the same as we have spent so far looking for and buying parts to complete the job) So much for trying to save some money. Anyone know where someone can get parts for an older Saleen as it sounds like more is going to be needed and the parts are nearly impossible to find in Canada as well as Saleen is no help at all.

Ok, rant over!

It pays to ask questions, do your research, and expect the unexpected - especially when buying used. Sucks you had a bad experience and no doubt you have buyers remorse. Not much you can do now but work through the issues and move on. Good luck.

Yah it sucks but lesson learned. I see it is moved to chit chat now, sorry if it was in the wrong section but still trying to find somewhere to get rebuild parts for this thing. trying to go through Saleen is useless so if anyone knows where to find Saleen parts please post so I can let my installer know as he is having little to no luck through his connections.

You might have better luck posting up a parts list. I'm curious about something though, did you look the parts over before giving them to the shop or were they shipped and/or opened by the shop?

Try 281 Motorsports or Brenspeed for Saleen blower parts.

It is a Saleen Supercharger for a 2005-2006 Mustang GT. Most of the extras he has found already but may need a new shaft for the bypass and seals to go with. Will know more on Monday when he gets it all apart to see if he can get it to work.

I looked over the parts when I received the kit but had no idea what I was looking for. I noticed the injectors were missing(which the seller shipped to me right away after I contacted him) but other than that there were numerous parts in the box. I was assured by the seller that everything was there but did not have a list to try and check off which parts were missing.

Have you communicated with the seller about the problems? If he wont resolve the issues be sure to put him in the bad sellers thread. We don't need guys getting screwed over with bad parts here.

Who'd you buy it from?

I am not going to bring up names as he said he never installed it since he was stationed away from home most of the time he had the kit. The guy he bought it from is another member on the site so can't really say if he knew anything about the missing parts or the bypass issue. Not going to play the blame game, just going to cut my losses and see if it can be salvaged.

I hope you get it resolved quickly. I understand why you went the used route as this stuff is adds up fast. I went with a new set up as I was worried about the same issue as you have ran into. Congrats to you in the way you are handling it. I would contact Brent at Brenspeed as they have alot of experience with the Saleen set ups and maybe he can help you with this. Again Good Luck.

Yep, a lesson that I believe we have all learned at one time or another. Often going the used route will actually cost more money in the end. Done that myself a few times over the years.

As soon as I find out what else I need to finish it I will give him a call and see if he can get me what is needed, Thanks!

I know a lot of used blowers are bought and sold on this forum....luckily or from what I have seen at least, these threads don't seem to be all that common. Sorry to see it had to be at your misfortune. I'm glad to see you're at least remaining level headed and acting like an adult and handling it as best as one can...when it comes to money it seems like not many can control their emotions. I hope things pan out man.
