Alright guys I have K springs on my car now, but with my new forgestars the drop just isn't enough. I want to get a lower set of springs, and the H&R super sports grabbed my eye. My question is, are these springs so low that they will effect handling in a negative manor or improve it? I dont want to be rubbing, hitting bumpstops, etc going around corners.

i'm not suspension guru or anything...

but i've had these since 2011 (on both my 2010 and now, 2013). I've had these paired with the stock struts (2010) and tokico D-specs (2013) and they've been great. I love the amount of drop these springs provide and paired with the tokico's, the car handles very well. I did have to cut my rear bump-stops and on the 2013, i am using the gt500 strut mounts.

The H&R's seems to sit lower on the 2013's than on the 2010. But it's all referenced by eye, I've never measured.

The lower you drop your car, the more compromised the suspension and steering geometry become, and the more likely you are to bottom out on the bump stops.

But if you're not actually racing your car around corners, it probably isn't going to matter to you.

Thanks for the replies guys and nice cars! I do want to start doing some autocross but nothing much. I am going to be getting some Koni shocks and struts this week as well and swaybars in the future and I wanted to make sure these springs are not too low to take advantage.

For what it's worth, if that's your ride in your sig I think the drop looks just about perfect.

If your not happy with the current drop I think you will need to decide how much $$$ you are willing to spend to get that extra 1/2-1" of drop. As someone already eluded to, the lower you go the bigger the domino effect becomes in terms of how that drop will effect all the other components involved in the suspension system.

IMO, to properly drop a car much below 1.5" you need a good coil over (ie..AST,Koni..expensive) which has a shorter body to allow for the extra drop in height that can also handle the now necessary high rate springs required to prevent your car from bottoming out. Then you will need a good set of real camber plates that have enough adjustment to fix the alignment, plus, longer ball joints, bump steer correction and at minimum an adjustable Panhard rod out back.

This is just a few things that come to mind at the moment. Only you can decide if that extra drop is worth the cost to fix all these other things as well. Of course you could choose to just drop the car with the H&R springs and ignore all the other crap I listed but I doubt anyone would do that after knowing all the problems that could go along with that decision.

...also, going that low, camber plates would be an excellent idea, as would some sort of adjustable links to correct your pinion angle
