The NT05's are a great choice, whats your threshold as far as longevity?

10k miles at least... I drive the piss out of my car... it’s not a garage queen.
I believe I should be able to squeeze by with NT05's from what I’ve heard; of course it all depends on how I drive on them, which sometimes does not promote longevity.

I'm amazed at the 285's fitting in the front, never thought to try. Any downside for putting such a large / heavy tire in the front of the car? I would imagine it would slow the car down a bit, but I cannot see that being a huge difference for me as a 2.6l KB is going to be slapped on after the new years.

Those rims are nice!!!

It won't slow the car down since you are already running 20's the difference in tire weight isn't much...the only drawback is that it will tramline more and follow the contours of the road more. But you will gain more front end grip with a better tire and a wider tire and eliminate some of the understeer inherent in the S197 chassis.

I ran the KDWS's years ago and all though it is a great tire, I am not sure if it still is a tire as relavent as a lot of the newer tires. The Enkei race series wheels are nice they use Enkei spin casting which is not as strong as forged or as light but much better than standard cast wheels. The Griggs GR40 with the SLA kit and the right offset wheels ( Jongbloed 18x10.5) will fit 315s all the way around. With an agressive alignment and 315 width Hoosier R6's your talking about a formidable Porsche eating track weapon.

We are running the Hankook Ventus V12 and there not a bad tire, but certainly not good...the thing that sucks about the NT05 is there 200 tread rating...the 555's are 300 and the Invo's are 260. But I would definitely consider reading the reviews on Tire Rack on the tires in that size http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/searchTiresBySize.do?sw=false&cs=275&ar=35&rd=20 I would also consider running a 275/35/20 all the way around.

Thanks for the help, I'm going to try out the NT05's. 275/35/20 all the way around... at least this way I can rotate my fronts to the back when my backs for some reason always wear 30% faster.

I have no idea how that happens, and I think you will love this combo....plus being able to rotate them saves you some money as far as making the tires last longer and not having pristine fronts and destroyed rears.

i have nt05's on my car now. i forsee maybe another 5k out of them, i have about 3500 on them now and 2 autox events

I have not ran the NT05's but I loved my NT555's can you give us your objective assesment of them? How are they? How are they in the slow speed stuff like the Auto-X?

i had 555's on the car before these. the diff is night and day. the 555's are an ok street tire, but they are no comparison to the grip of the 05's.

theres a certian offramp i hit high speed down here where im doing about 10-15more mph down now.

and for autox they get hot quick, so i tend to let them sit a few min between runs to cool them bc they get a bit slick, but they work awesome, our last pca event was a real quick track, i was up near 70 at one part, and some nice low speed switchbacks in it, the car felt great, even in a slalom that was slightly offcamber at the end it held strong, i found myself pushing wot way more on these bc even when they were spinning the car held its composure
