Anybody do this yet..splice in a resistor..and so you dont have to get your car a dirty inspection???

Why would you need to? Just get a tune that turns off the rear O2 sensors.

the inspection computer picks it up..there for it fails..it knows they are turned off..if you do mils...and get a tune with them on...the mils will tell the inspectors computer as if they are sending 12v's and they are fine. when infact you dont have cats

Doesn't that give you an "o2 not ready" error if you have them turned off? I thought that's why all these new guys on here with tunes are failing emissions.

correct!!!..thats why all us slapping our h with cats back on just to pass..or paying 100 bucks like some of my friends to pass..in texas..emissions is 39.75 its a goverend state price..

Idk about state price my man. In houston I paid the 39 bucks. Here in del rio (border town) it's 12 bucks. 25 if you can't pass emissions

You could get a tune to turn on the Rear O2's, and have them not report errors.

There are certainly threads here on how to pass inspection with no cats.

I spliced in an O2 simulator from O2simulator.com (dual output $40) and had a tune that activated the rear O2's. When I need my inspection, I plug in the tune, go through the drive cycle and get the inspection, then put the normal tune back in. I have heard that you can get a tune that will pass without the simulator but can't confirm that.

Thats cause they have too hook up the stink pole in Houston. Its more than just driving up and letting them check your blinkers and getting a new sticker.

Hell mine will pass w/o cats. But the first thing they do here is crouch and look underneath. Then they look at me and say "You don't have any 'cadillac' converters? We can't pass the inspection if you don't have them."

Then I say: It's catalytic you dumb ass.
Followed by a burnout as I leave the shop. I had to find a shady guy to give me the sticker. This is all in Del Rio btw.

Mine does as well, i live in waco. I have never ran cats on any of my cars. The only problem i have is my tint. These fuckers are to lazy to bend over and look.

Texas prices are different county to county. Eagle pass is like $15. I hollowed out my cats

i gutted ALL FOUR cats on an 01 v6 mustang once (horrible, horrible mistake! don't ever gut a 4 cat combo.. man does it sound like shit, and the loss of back pressure will ruin low end power.. huge mistake)

but i did successfully wire in resistors to trick the computer into thinkin everything was ok with the cats.. this would be enough to pass inspection in VA, as our only needs are:
1.) it appears there is a cat (a lump in the exhaust line that makes the mechanic think there's a cat
2.) there are no leaks

we don't do the "o2's not ready" or emissions testing in my area.. my only goal was to keep the MIL off, and it did

i found the write up on some kid's website he created about his 96ish GT. essentially you are just adding resistance so that the volts are a bit lower, so the computer thinks the cats did something. it does work, and is only a few bucks, and a relatively low hassle (if you consider soldering on the ground under a car a low hassle)
